The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, PT3/8, Low-Pressure is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This 400-size unit is fitted with a 3/8 inch PT port, the low-pressure regulator type, a 40 um standard filter element and an automatic drain that expels collected condensate without manual attention. The polycarbonate bowl lets you see the condensate level, an embedded square gauge reading in psi is fitted, and a reverse/check valve is included to hold downstream pressure. No mounting bracket is supplied with this configuration.
This is a genuine AirTAC part from the GFR series, which spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with ports from 1/8 to 1 inch, a choice of automatic, manual or differential-pressure drains, an optional 5 um element, gauge scale options and G or NPT thread variants. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the figures against your application - we will send the datasheet on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Filtering and regulating the air feeding a workshop pneumatic press: the 40 um element catches water and pipe scale ahead of the valve stack, the low-pressure regulator holds a gentle set pressure for clamping or forming work, and the check valve keeps the press from losing position on a supply dip.
Conditioning compressed air on a lab instrument manifold where delicate actuators and pneumatic controls need clean, low-pressure air. The 3/8 inch PT port suits the distribution run, the psi gauge gives a familiar readout, and the automatic drain keeps condensate off the bench without daily attention.
Feeding cylinders and air jets on a packaging conveyor line: the filter regulator cleans the shop air and sets a stable low pressure for the sealing and diverting actuators, while the automatic drain and check valve keep the line running through shift changes without manual draining.
Size and port are the first decision: the 400 body with its 3/8 inch PT port sits in the middle of the GFR range, one step up from the 300 for higher air demand. Because flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing against your required flow before ordering. This unit is the low-pressure regulator type - its adjustment range is not published on the sheet we work from, so confirm the set pressure with us. The automatic drain suits unattended duty; manual and differential-pressure drains are available on other variants. The 40 um element is the standard grade; a 5 um element (code W) is the option where finer filtration is needed. The fitted square gauge reads in psi, with MPa or bar scales and an external round gauge available as alternatives. PT is the standard thread; G (BSPP) and NPT are order options. This configuration has no mounting bracket - bracketed variants exist.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Tell us your operating pressure and required flow and we will confirm the sizing from the datasheet on request before you order.
The A in the code sets the automatic drain, which ejects collected condensate by itself instead of needing a manual twist like the M variant or a differential-pressure drain like the blank variant. The F2 sets the embedded square gauge with a psi scale; MPa or bar scales and an external round gauge are the other catalogue options.
