The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator PT3/8 Low-Pressure 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a filter regulator: one body removes water and particulate from compressed air and sets downstream pressure. This size 400 unit is ported PT3/8, carries a 5 um filter element (code W), drains its polycarbonate bowl automatically, and is the low-pressure regulator type. A square pressure gauge scaled in psi is fitted, and a reverse (check) valve holds downstream pressure if the supply drops. Rated to 1.0 MPa (145 psi) inlet and -5 to 70 C, non-freezing.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200 to 600 with ports from 1/8 to 1 inch, a choice of automatic, manual or differential-pressure drains, 40 um or 5 um elements, gauge scale options, G or NPT thread variants and bracket options. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Regulates filtered air to the clamping cylinders on an assembly fixture that runs at reduced pressure, with the 5 um element protecting the directional valve seals.
Feeds clean, regulated low-pressure air to bench instruments and test rigs, with the automatic drain keeping the bowl clear during unattended runs.
Supplies filtered, regulated air to the sealing cylinders on a film packaging line, with the check valve holding downstream pressure through brief supply dips.
Size 400 with a 3/8 in PT port sits mid-range in the GFR line; step up or down a size to match the flow your circuit needs. Choose the automatic drain (as here) where the unit runs unattended or is hard to reach, a manual drain for supervised points, or the differential-pressure default. The 5 um element (code W) gives finer filtration for sensitive valves and instruments; the 40 um standard element covers general protection. The embedded square gauge is standard and this unit is scaled in psi (MPa or bar scales are available); an external round gauge is optional. The thread can be ordered as G or NPT instead of PT, and a mounting bracket can be added. Flow is published as curves, not a single rating, so let us confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes GFR flow as curves, not a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Send us your application details and we will confirm the flow and full datasheet figures for this unit on request.
The automatic drain expels collected condensate without manual attention, which suits units mounted high up or in infrequently visited parts of the plant. The 5 um element (code W) gives finer filtration than the 40 um standard element for sensitive valves and actuators; choose 40 um where general protection is enough.
