The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Low-Pressure Filter Regulator, G3/8 is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The GFR400-10 is an AirTAC GFR-series filter regulator: water and particulate filtration plus downstream pressure regulation combined in a single body. This configuration carries a G3/8 (BSPP) port, an automatic drain that expels condensate from the PC (polycarbonate) bowl without operator attention, a 40 um standard filter element, and the low-pressure regulator type with an embedded square gauge reading in psi. No mounting bracket is fitted and no reverse/check valve is included. Maximum working (inlet) pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the operating temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing).
It is a genuine AirTAC part from the GFR range, which spans sizes 200 to 600 with ports from 1/8 to 1 inch, and options including manual or differential-pressure drains, a finer 5 um element (code W), alternate gauge scales (MPa/psi/bar), an external round gauge, and PT or NPT threads in addition to this G-thread version. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm sizing and full datasheet details for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| G | G (BSPP) thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Filtering shop air and holding a reduced, stable supply pressure to clamping cylinders on a machining fixture, with the automatic drain clearing condensate from humid compressed air between cycles.
Feeding clean, regulated air to gripper and cylinder actuators on a carton-packing conveyor, where the 40 um element protects directional valves from water and particulate carryover.
Point-of-use filtration and pressure regulation for actuator valves on a bottling or filling line, with the square psi gauge giving operators a direct local reading of set pressure.
Size and port come first: step through 200/300/400/600 as your air demand grows - this size 400 unit takes a 3/8 in port. Where a bowl is present, choose the drain: automatic (this unit, code A) for unattended condensate removal, manual for operator control, or the differential-pressure default. Filter grade is 40 um standard or 5 um with code W for finer particulate. Gauges are embedded square as standard with MPa, psi or bar scales, and an external round gauge is optional. Thread: PT is the AirTAC standard, with G (this unit) and NPT available as order options. Brackets are optional; this unit comes without one. Note this is the low-pressure type (code L) - its exact regulation range is not published in the catalogue, so confirm it with us against your set pressure. Because flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes GFR-series flow as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Send us your operating pressure and expected air consumption and we will confirm sizing from the datasheet on request.
Code A fits an automatic drain, which expels collected condensate from the PC bowl without operator attention - useful on lines that run unattended or in humid environments. The same series is also available with a manual drain (code M) or the differential-pressure default (blank) if you prefer a different arrangement.
