GFR400-10 G AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, Manual Drain

The AirTAC GFR400-10 G AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, Manual Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR400-10 G AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, Manual Drain

The AirTAC GFR400-10 G is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and sets a stable downstream pressure in one body. This size 400 unit has a G3/8 (BSPP) port, a 40 um standard filter element, and a manual drain bowl in polycarbonate - you open the drain by hand to expel collected condensate, so it suits installations checked on a regular service round. The standard regulator covers 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi) and an embedded square gauge with a psi scale is fitted so the set pressure is visible at the unit.

This is a genuine AirTAC part from the GFR series, which spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port options from 1/8 in to 1 in, G, NPT or PT threads, automatic, manual or differential-pressure drains, a 5 um (W) filter grade option, gauge scale choices and optional brackets. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure - ask us and we will confirm the datasheet figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Model Code: GFR400-10 G AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, Manual Drain

GFR400G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range.
10Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
MDrain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)).
(blank)Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type.
JSupplied without bracket.
(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
FGauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square.
2Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
GG (BSPP) thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR400-10 G AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, Manual Drain Is Used

precision_manufacturing

Pneumatic press and clamping fixtures

Feeding filtered, regulated air to a press or clamp cylinder on a production line, where the operator sets and reads the working pressure in psi at the unit and drains the bowl during scheduled checks.

factory

Packaging machine air supply

Conditioning the air going into a packaging machine's valve island and actuators: the 40 um element catches pipe scale and water before the valves, and the regulator holds the pressure the machine was set up with.

settings_input_component

Assembly cell actuator manifold

Mounted at the inlet of a multi-station assembly cell, supplying each station with clean air at a fixed set pressure, with the square gauge giving a visible reference during changeover and maintenance.

Is the GFR400-10 G AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, Manual Drain the Right Unit?

Size 400 with a 3/8 in port sits in the upper-middle of the GFR range; step up to 600 or down to 300 according to the flow your line needs - we can confirm the published flow curves against your demand before you order. This unit has a manual drain, so choose it where someone is already servicing the point of use; pick the automatic or differential-pressure drain variants if the bowl cannot be checked regularly. The 40 um element is the standard grade for general plant air - specify the 5 um (W) option only where downstream equipment needs finer filtration. The fitted square gauge reads in psi; MPa and bar scales, an external round gauge, and G or NPT thread variants are order options, and this configuration has no mounting bracket.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT3/8" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR400-10 G AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, Manual Drain FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a figure here. Tell us your line's air demand and we will confirm the datasheet flow curve for this 3/8 in size on request before you order.

The M in the code means the polycarbonate bowl is drained by hand: you open the drain to expel collected water and dirt. If the installation is not visited regularly, the same GFR400 size is available with an automatic or differential-pressure drain - order the variant with A (automatic) or no drain letter (differential-pressure) in the code instead.
