GFR400-10 NPT 3/8 AirTAC Filter Regulator, Low-Pressure

The AirTAC GFR400-10 NPT 3/8 AirTAC Filter Regulator, Low-Pressure is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR400-10 NPT 3/8 AirTAC Filter Regulator, Low-Pressure

The AirTAC GFR400-10LJF1T is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and holds downstream pressure at your setpoint in one body. This size 400 unit has a 3/8 in NPT port, the low-pressure regulator type, a 40 um standard filter element and a differential-pressure drain, the catalogue default drain type. The square pressure gauge is fitted with an MPa scale, the polycarbonate bowl shows the condensate level at a glance, and the unit is supplied without a mounting bracket.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with ports from 1/8 to 1 inch, and options include a 5 um filter element (code W), automatic or manual drains, psi or bar gauge scales, G (BSPP) or NPT threads in place of the PT standard, and a mounting bracket. Flow figures are published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us and we will confirm the datasheet figures for your application before you order.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Model Code: GFR400-10 NPT 3/8 AirTAC Filter Regulator, Low-Pressure

GFR400G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range.
10Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
(blank)Drain: Differential-pressure drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)).
LLow-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type.
JSupplied without bracket.
(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
FGauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square.
1Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
TNPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

  • GFR400PT3/8" - PT1/2"
  • GFR600PT3/4" - PT1"

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR400-10 NPT 3/8 AirTAC Filter Regulator, Low-Pressure Is Used

precision_manufacturing

Pneumatic clamps on machining fixtures

Filtered, regulated air to clamps and vises on a CNC machining fixture, where clean air and a steady low-pressure setpoint keep workholding consistent through the shift.

conveyor_belt

Diverter and stopper cylinders on packaging conveyors

The 3/8 in NPT port feeds a manifold of small actuators on a packaging conveyor, with the 40 um element screening pipe scale before it reaches the valves.

factory

Carton-forming stations on a bottling line

Regulated air to the forming and sealing cylinders of a carton former, where the differential-pressure drain keeps condensate out of the downstream circuit.

Is the GFR400-10 NPT 3/8 AirTAC Filter Regulator, Low-Pressure the Right Unit?

Choose the size by the port and flow your line needs: this unit is size 400 with a 3/8 in NPT port, while the 200/300 and 600 sizes step the port and capacity down or up. Drain type is a real choice: differential-pressure as fitted here (the default), automatic (code A) or manual (code M). Filter grade is 40 um standard; order code W for the 5 um element if finer filtration is needed. Gauge scales can be ordered in MPa (fitted here), psi or bar, threads can be ordered as G (BSPP) or NPT instead of the PT standard, and bracket options apply to this family. Flow is published as curves, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT3/8" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR400-10 NPT 3/8 AirTAC Filter Regulator, Low-Pressure FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Tell us your line pressure and the air your application consumes, and we will confirm the sizing from the datasheet before you order.

L marks the low-pressure regulator type in this filter regulator. It is selected when the downstream setpoint sits in the lower part of the working range; the standard type is available in the same size if your setpoint is higher. The exact adjustment range is not published on the sheet we work from, so ask us and we will confirm it from the datasheet.
