The AirTAC GFR400-10G AirTAC Filter Regulator G3/8, Auto Drain, 40 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10G is a size-400 filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration is fitted with G3/8 (BSPP) ports, an automatic drain that ejects collected condensate without manual attention, and the standard 40 um filter element. It is the low-pressure (L) type, intended for circuits where the regulated output sits at the lower end of the working range, and it carries a round pressure gauge reading in psi. A reverse/check valve is fitted, and a mounting bracket is included.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR series is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with a choice of ports, threads (PT standard; G and NPT as order options), drain types, 40 um or 5 um filtration, gauge styles and scales, and standard or low-pressure regulation. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| (blank) | Mounting bracket included. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| G | G (BSPP) thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeds filtered, regulated air to the cylinder and valve bank of a carton-forming or wrapping line, with the automatic drain keeping condensate out of the supply on a line that runs unattended.
Sits ahead of a fixture-clamping or holding circuit that operates at low regulated pressure, where the L-type regulator setting range matches the duty and the check valve holds the set condition.
Conditions the air feeding conveyor-mounted actuators and blow-off nozzles, with the 40 um element stopping particulate from fouling nozzles and the psi gauge giving operators a local reading.
Size 400 with G3/8 ports suits lines whose pipe runs and air demand sit at the mid-to-upper end of the G-series range; step up or down a size if your flow requirement differs. The automatic drain on this unit suits unattended or hard-to-reach installations; choose manual or differential-pressure drain where you prefer operator-controlled or pressure-differential dumping. The standard 40 um element is the general-purpose grade; specify W for 5 um where finer filtration is needed. The round gauge reads psi; square embedded gauges and MPa/bar scales are alternatives. Thread is G (BSPP) here, with PT standard and NPT available to order; a bracket is included.
Because flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, we cannot quote one number here - send us your application details and we will confirm sizing against the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number on the page. Tell us your line pressure, downstream demand and allowable pressure drop, and we will confirm the flow figures from the datasheet for this exact unit on request.
The A in the code GFR40010ALC2GK specifies an automatic drain, which ejects collected condensate by itself - useful where the unit is mounted in a hard-to-reach spot or the line runs unattended. The GFR family is also available with a manual drain or the default differential-pressure drain; ask us for those variants if they suit your installation better.
