The AirTAC GFR400-10G AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, Low Pressure is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10G is a size-400 filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body, so one unit does the job of a separate filter and regulator. This configuration is built with a G3/8 (BSPP) port, a manual drain bowl in polycarbonate, a 40 um standard filtration element, and the low-pressure regulator type for circuits that run at reduced set pressures. It is supplied with a round external gauge reading in psi, a reverse/check valve fitted, and no mounting bracket.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is published in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8" to 1", and with choices of drain type, filter grade (40 um standard, 5 um optional), gauge style and scale, thread (PT standard; G and NPT as order options), bracket and reverse valve. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm sizing and any datasheet figure against your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| G | G (BSPP) thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feed spray guns on a finishing line with air that is filtered of water and particulate and held at the low, stable set pressure the guns require - the low-pressure regulator type and 40 um element suit this duty.
Supply filler heads, clamp cylinders and gating actuators on a bottling line where the circuit runs at reduced set pressures and clean, moisture-reduced air protects the valves downstream.
Regulate air to lay-on rollers and web-tension cylinders on a textile or paper converting machine, where gentle low-pressure control and filtered air keep the product handling consistent.
Start with the size and port: GFR400 with a 3/8" port sits mid-range in the family, and the correct step depends on the air demand of the circuit - step up or down through 200/300/400/600 if your flow differs. The drain is the next decodable choice: this model has a manual drain (drain by hand during service), while automatic and differential-pressure drains are available on other codes where the bowl cannot be attended regularly. Filtration is the 40 um standard element; specify the 5 um W-grade code if the application needs finer particulate removal.
Further choices: the gauge here is the external round type with a psi scale (embedded square gauges and MPa or bar scales are the alternatives), the thread is G (BSPP) with PT as the catalogue standard and NPT available to order, and the reverse/check valve is fitted on this code. Bracket options apply per code. Because flow is published as curves and not a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR family as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a rated flow, Cv or SCFM number. Send us your application's air demand and we will confirm the correct size and the flow figures from the datasheet on request.
The M in the code GFR400-10MLJC2GK means the polycarbonate bowl is drained by hand during service. Manual drain suits installations that are checked regularly; if the bowl cannot be attended, the family also offers automatic (code A) and differential-pressure (blank) drains on other codes.
