GFR400-10T AirTAC Filter Regulator 3/8 in NPT

The AirTAC GFR400-10T AirTAC Filter Regulator 3/8 in NPT is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR400-10T AirTAC Filter Regulator 3/8 in NPT

The AirTAC GFR400-10T is a size 400 filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration has a 3/8 in NPT port, a manual drain bowl in polycarbonate, a 40 um standard filter element, an embedded square gauge reading in bar, and the standard regulator with an adjustment range of 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi). Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). No mounting bracket is included with this code.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 to 1 inch, PT as the standard thread and G or NPT as order options, a choice of manual, automatic or differential-pressure drain, a 5 um element option, gauge scale choices and optional brackets. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Model Code: GFR400-10T AirTAC Filter Regulator 3/8 in NPT

GFR400G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range.
10Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
MDrain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)).
(blank)Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type.
JSupplied without bracket.
(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
FGauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square.
3Gauge scale: bar. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
TNPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR400-10T AirTAC Filter Regulator 3/8 in NPT Is Used

precision_manufacturing

CNC machining centre air prep

Feeds clean, regulated air to the tool-clamp and chip-clearing circuits of a CNC machining centre, with the bar-scale gauge letting operators check set pressure at a glance.

conveyor_belt

Packaging line gate and divert cylinders

Supplies filtered, pressure-regulated air to the gate, divert and reject cylinders on a packaging conveyor, where the manual drain suits a line checked at every shift.

factory

Textile loom service drop

Installed at a service drop on a textile weaving floor to condition and regulate air to loom actuation circuits, with the 3/8 in NPT port matching the drop piping.

Is the GFR400-10T AirTAC Filter Regulator 3/8 in NPT the Right Unit?

Start with the port and size step: this unit is size 400 with a 3/8 in NPT port; if your line needs more or less flow capacity, step up or down through the 200/300/400/600 range and matching ports. Choose the drain to suit access: manual drain (this code) suits attended installations, automatic or differential-pressure drain suits unattended ones. The 40 um element is standard; specify the 5 um option (code W) where finer filtration is needed. Gauge scale is selectable (MPa, psi or bar - this code is bar), and the embedded square gauge is standard with an external round gauge available. PT is the standard thread; G and NPT are order options. A bracket is optional (this code has none).

Flow for the GFR series is published as curves, not a single rating, so we cannot quote a rated flow number here. Send us your application details and we will confirm sizing against the datasheet curves before you order.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT3/8" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR400-10T AirTAC Filter Regulator 3/8 in NPT FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a rated flow, Cv or SCFM number. Tell us your application and we will confirm the sizing from the datasheet curves on request.

The M in GFR40010MJF3T specifies a manual drain bowl, which you empty by hand - a good fit where the unit is checked regularly. If the installation is unattended, order the automatic (A) or differential-pressure (blank) drain variant instead; the regulation range for manual-drain units is 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi).
