The AirTAC GFR400-15 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT1/2, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-15 is a filter regulator: one body that removes water and particulate from compressed air and holds the downstream pressure at your set point. This 400-size unit is fitted with a 1/2 in NPT port, a 5 um filter element for finer filtration than the standard 40 um grade, a manual drain for the polycarbonate bowl, an embedded square gauge scaled in MPa, and a built-in reverse (check) valve that holds downstream pressure when the upstream supply is lost. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), the regulator adjustment range on this manual-drain version is 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), and the operating temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR series is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600, with port options from 1/8 in to 1 in, PT as the standard thread and G or NPT as catalogue options, a choice of differential-pressure, automatic or manual drain, 40 um or 5 um filtration, standard or low-pressure regulation, gauge and bracket options, and an optional reverse valve. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet and sizing for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |

| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeding clean, regulated air to a bench or floor-mounted pneumatic press, where the 5 um element protects the valve stack and the check valve holds the set pressure if the shop supply drops.
Conditioning the air feeding conveyor diverters, clamp cylinders and bagger actuators on a packaging line, with the square gauge giving operators a visible set point at the drop.
A filtered and regulated drop point serving a machine cell or workstation, where the manual drain is opened during scheduled checks and the bracket mounts the unit to the drop frame.
Start with the port and size: this 400-size unit carries a 1/2 in NPT port, one step up from the 300 series, so step up to the 600 size if your line needs more flow capacity. The 5 um element (code W) suits applications that need finer particulate control than the standard 40 um grade; choose 40 um where coarser protection is enough. The manual drain means an operator opens the bowl drain during checks - choose automatic or differential-pressure drain if the unit will be left unattended. The square gauge is scaled in MPa; psi and bar scales are available, and an external round gauge is an option. NPT is the thread on this code; PT is the standard and G (BSPP) can be ordered. A bracket is included, and the reverse valve holds downstream pressure on air loss.
Because flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not state a rated flow number. Tell us your application and required flow, and we will confirm the sizing from the datasheet on request before you order.
The M in the code GFR40015MF1WTK specifies a manual drain, which means the polycarbonate bowl is emptied by opening the drain during routine checks. Differential-pressure drain (the default) and automatic drain versions of the same GFR400 size can be ordered if the unit will run unattended.
