The AirTAC GFR400-15 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2, Low-Pressure is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-15 is a size-400 filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration carries a 1/2 in NPT port, a 40 um standard filter element, a manual drain bowl, and the low-pressure regulator type, so it suits circuits that must run at reduced set pressures rather than full line pressure. An embedded square gauge scaled in bar is fitted for direct set-point reading, a reverse/check valve is fitted to hold downstream pressure, and a mounting bracket is included.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR range is published in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port options from 1/8 to 1 in, drain choices (differential-pressure, automatic or manual), a 5 um element option, gauge scale options and G/NPT thread variants. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm datasheet figures against your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 3 | Gauge scale: bar. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

On a stamping or assembly press, the clamping cylinders need clean air held at a reduced, stable set pressure. The GFR400-15 filters the supply and regulates it in one body, with the bar-scaled square gauge giving the setter a direct readout at the machine.
A cartoning or wrapping line with many small actuators benefits from one filtered, regulated feed per machine section. The 1/2 in NPT port suits a main drop, the 40 um element keeps water and debris out of valves, and the check valve holds downstream pressure if the supply dips.
Workholding fixtures and air tables that must run well below normal line pressure call for the low-pressure regulator type. The manual drain lets maintenance bleed accumulated condensate at the start of each shift on a fixture that is attended daily.
Step up or down through the GFR sizes (200/300/400/600) so the port and body match the flow your line needs; this unit is the size-400 body with a 1/2 in NPT port. Choose the drain to match how the unit is serviced: manual drain (this model) requires an operator to bleed the bowl, while automatic and differential-pressure drains discharge condensate without attention. The 40 um element is the standard grade; specify the W code for the 5 um option where finer filtration is required. Gauge scale (MPa, psi or bar) and thread (PT standard, G or NPT to order) are selected at ordering, and a bracket can be included or omitted.
Flow is published as curves, not a single rated figure, so we cannot quote a rated flow number. Send us your application details and we will confirm sizing from the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes G-series flow as performance curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a rated flow, Cv or SCFM number. Tell us your application and line pressure and we will confirm the sizing from the datasheet on request.
The M code in GFR40015MLF3TK specifies a manual drain: an operator opens the bowl drain to discharge collected condensate. It suits attended equipment on a regular maintenance schedule. Where the unit is remote or unattended, choose the automatic (A) or differential-pressure (blank) drain code instead.
