The AirTAC GFR400-15 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT1/2, Square Gauge is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-15 is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This size 400 unit has a 1/2 in NPT port, a 40 um standard filter element, and a differential-pressure drain that bleeds collected condensate automatically whenever the pressure differential across the element is high enough. The fitted square gauge reads in psi, and the standard regulator covers an adjustment range of 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi). Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). The polycarbonate bowl suits this size, and no mounting bracket is fitted with this code.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR filter-regulator line spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, and options include manual or automatic drains, a 5 um element (code W), low-pressure regulation, a check valve, alternative gauge scales, and G or NPT threads in place of the PT standard. Flow figures are published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us and we will confirm the datasheet figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| (blank) | Drain: Differential-pressure drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeding a pneumatic press or clamping fixture, the GFR400-15 cleans water and swarf out of the shop air line and holds a steady regulated pressure so the press cycle repeats consistently shift after shift.
On a bottling or cartoning line with cylinders, diverters and blow-off nozzles, this unit filters condensate from the header supply and lets the line supervisor set one clean regulated pressure for the whole conveyor section.
At a CNC or assembly-station air drop, the GFR400-15 takes the 1/2 in branch line, strips out water and pipe-scale particles, and delivers regulated air sized to the machine's own inlet requirement.
Size and port are the first choice: the 200/300/400/600 steps move up in port size and flow capacity, and this unit sits at size 400 with a 1/2 in NPT port. Drain type is a real decision: differential-pressure (this unit) needs no attention but only clears condensate on demand, while an automatic drain (code A) empties continuously and a manual drain (code M) is emptied by hand. The 40 um element is standard; specify code W if the application needs 5 um filtration. Gauge scale (MPa, psi or bar), thread (PT standard, G or NPT to order), and the bracket option (this code has no bracket) are all selectable at ordering.
Because flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, we cannot quote one number here. Send us your application details and we will confirm sizing against the datasheet curves before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a figure here. Tell us your application and we will confirm the flow data from the datasheet on request before you order.
The trailing T in the code orders the NPT thread; PT is the catalogue standard and G (BSPP) is also available to order. All three are specification choices made at ordering, so pick the thread that matches your piping when you place the order.
