The AirTAC GFR400-15 AirTAC Filter Regulator PT1/2, 5 um, psi Gauge is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-15 is a size-400 filter regulator that removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration carries a 1/2 in PT port, a 5 um filter element (the finer of the two published grades), a differential-pressure drain that bleeds collected condensate automatically whenever the pressure differential across the element is high enough, and an embedded square gauge scaled in psi. A reverse/check valve is fitted, and the unit includes a mounting bracket.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR series is published in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with a choice of drain type, 40 um or 5 um filtration, gauge scale, thread (PT standard, with G and NPT as order options) and bracket arrangement. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

| (blank) | Drain: Differential-pressure drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |

| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Installed at the 1/2 in branch feeding an assembly cell, the GFR400-15 cleans the supply to 5 um and holds the working pressure the cell was set up for, while the check valve keeps the circuit pressurised if the main header is shut off.
On a packaging line running air cylinders, grippers and vacuum generators around the clock, this unit filters water and debris out of the 1/2 in supply and regulates it to the line's set pressure, with the psi gauge giving operators a visible reference.
Feeding directional control valves and actuators on automated machinery, the 5 um element protects valve spools and seals from particulate and condensate, and the regulator keeps actuator speed and force consistent at the set pressure.
Work from the port step first: size 400 with a 1/2 in PT port suits lines where the main air supply is 1/2 in; step down to 300 or up to 600 if your pipework differs. Choose the 5 um element (this model, code W) where downstream valves, cylinders or instruments need finer filtration than the 40 um standard grade. The differential-pressure drain on this unit handles condensate automatically during operation; pick a manual-drain variant only where the bowl cannot be checked in service, or an automatic drain where condensate loads are heavy.
The square gauge is scaled in psi here (MPa and bar scales are also published options), and the fitted reverse/check valve holds downstream pressure if the upstream supply is lost. PT is the standard thread; G (BSPP) and NPT are catalogue options to order. Flow for the GFR400 is published as curves, not a single rating, so confirm sizing against your application with us before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR400 as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Tell us your line pressure, set pressure and the equipment you are feeding, and we will confirm the relevant datasheet flow figures for this model on request before you order.
The W in the code GFR40015F2WK specifies the 5 um filter element instead of the 40 um standard grade, for finer protection of downstream equipment. The K specifies a fitted reverse/check valve, which holds downstream pressure if the upstream supply is interrupted. Drain is the differential-pressure type and the square gauge is scaled in psi; MPa and bar scales, other drain types and G or NPT threads are published options.
