The AirTAC GFR400-15G AirTAC Filter Regulator, G1/2, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-15G is a size-400 filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and sets downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration carries a G1/2 (BSPP) port, a 5 um filter element for finer filtration than the standard 40 um grade, a differential-pressure drain that bleeds accumulated condensate automatically whenever the pressure differential across the element is high enough, a fitted round gauge reading in psi, and a built-in reverse/check valve that holds the downstream setting when upstream pressure is lost. The polycarbonate bowl (size 400) lets you see the condensate level at a glance, and the mounting bracket is included.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is offered in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600, with port options from 1/8 to 1 inch, PT as the standard thread and G or NPT as order options, drain choices of differential-pressure, automatic or manual, 40 um or 5 um filtration, and square or round gauges in MPa, psi or bar scales. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us and we will confirm the datasheet figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

| (blank) | Drain: Differential-pressure drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |

| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| G | G (BSPP) thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeds clean, regulated air to the tool-clamp and pallet-changer circuits of a CNC machining centre, with the 5 um element protecting close-tolerance valves from particulate and the check valve holding the clamp setting through an upstream pressure dip.
Conditions the air feeding cylinder-driven carton-forming and case-sealing stations on a packaging conveyor line, giving each station one point where water, debris and pressure are set and the psi gauge is visible to the line operator.
Serves individual drop lines in a textile weaving shed, where continuous compressed-air use collects condensate quickly - the differential-pressure drain clears it without a manual walk-round, and the 5 um grade keeps lint and pipe scale out of the loom valves.
Start with the size and port: 400 is the larger step in the GFR range, and the G1/2 port here suits lines plumbed in 1/2 inch BSPP. Match the size to the flow your line needs - we can check the published flow curves against your demand before you order. On drainage, this unit uses the differential-pressure drain (the default); choose automatic drain or manual drain variants if your duty or maintenance routine calls for them. Filtration is 5 um in this configuration (code W); the standard grade is 40 um if your application does not need the finer element. The round psi gauge is fitted; embedded square gauges and MPa or bar scales are the other catalogue options. Thread is G (BSPP) here, with PT standard and NPT available to order, and the mounting bracket is included. Because flow is published as curves and not as a single rating, please ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR400 series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a l/min or SCFM number. Tell us your line demand and operating pressure and we will confirm the datasheet flow figures for this exact configuration on request before you order.
The GFR400-15G carries the optional 5 um element, which filters finer than the standard 40 um grade and suits downstream equipment that is sensitive to smaller particulate. If your application only needs coarse protection, the standard 40 um version of the same size is available - ask us and we will confirm the right variant.
