The AirTAC GFR400-15MJF2WG AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/2, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-15MJF2WG is a size-400 filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration carries a G1/2 (BSPP) port, a 5 um filter element (the finer of the two catalogue grades), a manual drain for the PC bowl, a built-in square gauge scaled in psi, and the standard regulator with an adjustment range of 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi). Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the operating temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). No mounting bracket is fitted and no reverse/check valve is included.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8" to 1", PT as the standard thread and G or NPT as order options, with a choice of drain type, 40 um or 5 um filtration, gauge scale and bracket. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we confirm the datasheet and flow figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| G | G (BSPP) thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeding clean, regulated air to the tool-clamp and actuator circuits of a CNC machining centre, where the 5 um element helps protect valves and cylinders from water and fine particulate.
Regulating the pressure feeding pneumatic cylinders on a carton-forming and sealing conveyor line, with the manual drain emptied as part of routine shift maintenance.
Supplying steady, filtered air to grippers and small actuators on a laboratory automation skid, where the psi-scaled square gauge gives operators a direct local pressure readout.
Choose the size and port step against the air demand of the circuit: size 400 with a 1/2" port sits in the upper mid-range of the GFR line, and stepping up a size gives a larger port and more flow capacity. This unit is already specified with the finer 5 um element (order code W) instead of the 40 um standard, a manual drain instead of the differential-pressure default or automatic option, and a square gauge scaled in psi (MPa and bar scales are also available). Thread is G (BSPP) here; PT is the standard and NPT is an alternative order option. Because flow is published as curves and not as a single rated number, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a rated flow, Cv or SCFM number. Tell us your application and required flow, and we will confirm the datasheet figures and correct size for you on request.
The M in the code specifies a manual drain: condensate collected in the PC bowl is released by operating the drain by hand, which suits installations visited during routine maintenance. The GFR family is also available with a differential-pressure drain (the default) or an automatic drain (code A), and we can quote the alternative configuration on request.
