The AirTAC GFR400-15T AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-15T is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and sets downstream pressure in one body. This size 400 unit is threaded NPT1/2 and carries the 5 um element (code W) for finer filtration than the 40 um standard, a differential-pressure drain that bleeds accumulated condensate as flow passes through, a round external gauge reading in bar, and a built-in reverse/check valve that holds the downstream setting if upstream supply is interrupted. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the regulated output spans 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi). Operating temperature is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing. The polycarbonate bowl suits this size; only the 600 size uses an aluminium alloy bowl.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR filter-regulator line spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with ports from 1/8 to 1 inch, a choice of differential-pressure, automatic or manual drain, 40 um or 5 um filtration, standard or low-pressure regulation, embedded square or external round gauges in MPa, psi or bar scales, and PT, G or NPT threads. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| (blank) | Drain: Differential-pressure drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 3 | Gauge scale: bar. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeding filtered, regulated air to a workshop pneumatic press or clamp cylinder circuit, where the 5 um element protects valve spools and the check valve holds the set pressure if the compressor unloads.
Mounting ahead of the valve island on a cartoning or wrapping line, conditioning the plant air supply and giving operators a bar gauge to verify set pressure at the machine.
Conditioning air for conveyor gate and diverter actuators, where continuous flow keeps the differential-pressure drain clearing condensate and the 5 um grade keeps dirt out of the diverters.
Size 400 with a 1/2 inch port sits in the upper-middle of the GFR range; step up to size 600 or down to 300 depending on the flow your line needs. The 5 um element (W) is the right choice where downstream valves, cylinders or instruments tolerate less particulate than the 40 um standard allows; note that finer filtration can raise pressure drop, so confirm sizing before ordering. The differential-pressure drain is the default and suits continuously flowing lines; choose automatic for intermittent duty or manual where an operator drains on schedule. The round gauge here reads in bar; square embedded gauges and MPa or psi scales are alternatives. NPT is specified on this code; PT and G (BSPP) are order options. No mounting bracket is included with the J code.
Flow for this family is published as curves, not a single rated figure, so we cannot quote one number honestly. Send us your application details and we will confirm the datasheet curve and sizing before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote one number. Tell us your line pressure and the flow your equipment needs and we will confirm the datasheet curve and check the sizing for you before you order.
The W in the code specifies the 5 um filter element instead of the 40 um standard, giving finer particulate removal for sensitive downstream components. The K specifies a built-in reverse/check valve, which holds the regulated downstream pressure if the upstream supply drops. Both are order options; the 40 um grade and no check valve are the defaults.
