The AirTAC GFR400-15T AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The GFR400-15T is an AirTAC GFR400 filter regulator: a single body that removes water and particulate from compressed air and then regulates downstream pressure. This configuration is built around a 1/2 in NPT port, a 5 um filter element (the finer of the two catalogue grades), and a differential-pressure drain that bleeds collected condensate automatically whenever the pressure differential across the element is high enough - no daily manual draining on a steadily used line. The fitted embedded square gauge reads in psi, and the standard regulator covers an adjustment range of 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi) with a maximum inlet pressure of 1.0 MPa (145 psi). Operating temperature is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing. The 400-size polycarbonate bowl is not fitted with a mounting bracket in this variant (code J).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans four sizes (200, 300, 400, 600) with ports from 1/8 to 1 in, a choice of 40 um or 5 um filtration, differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains, square or round gauges in MPa, psi or bar scales, and PT, G or NPT threads. Flow for this series is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us and we will confirm the datasheet figures for your application before you order.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| (blank) | Drain: Differential-pressure drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeding clean, regulated air to the tool-clamp and pallet-change circuits of a CNC machining centre, where the 5 um element protects precision valves from particulate and the regulator holds a stable setpoint for consistent clamping.
Conditioning the air feeding cylinder-driven case packers and carton sealers on a packaging line, where the differential-pressure drain keeps condensate off the actuators during continuous shifts without a daily bowl-draining routine.
Prepping air ahead of a directional-valve manifold on an automated assembly station, so every valve on the manifold sees filtered air at one regulated psi setpoint read directly off the square gauge.
Size and port are the first decision: the GFR400 with a 1/2 in port sits in the upper-middle of the range (200/300/400/600), so step up to 600 or down to 300 depending on the flow your line needs - we can check the curve against your demand. Drain type is a real choice here: this unit uses the differential-pressure drain (default), but automatic (A) and manual (M) versions exist if your duty cycle or maintenance routine suits them better. Filtration is set to 5 um with the W code; the standard 40 um element is available if your downstream valves tolerate coarser air. The gauge on this unit is the embedded square type reading psi; round external gauges and MPa or bar scales are order options. Thread is NPT on this model (T code); PT is the catalogue standard and G (BSPP) is also offered. Brackets are optional - this variant ships without one (J code).
One honest note on sizing: AirTAC publishes flow for this series as curves, not a single rated number, so we do not quote a flow figure here. Send us your application details and we will confirm the datasheet curve and sizing before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as performance curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a flow number here. Tell us your line pressure and air demand and we will confirm the datasheet curve for the GFR400 at 1/2 in NPT and check it against your application before you order.
The W code in GFR40015JF2WT selects the finer 5 um filtration grade; 40 um is the catalogue standard. Choose 5 um when downstream components are sensitive to finer particulate, and 40 um where coarser protection is sufficient. Both grades are available across the GFR range, and the differential-pressure drain works with either.
