GFR400-15T AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2 Auto Drain

The AirTAC GFR400-15T AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2 Auto Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR400-15T AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2 Auto Drain

The AirTAC GFR400-15T is a size 400 filter regulator that removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration carries a 1/2 in NPT port, an automatic drain that expels collected condensate without manual attention, a 40 um standard filter element, a round pressure gauge reading in MPa, and a built-in reverse (check) valve. The polycarbonate bowl suits the non-freezing -5 to 70 C operating range, and a mounting bracket is included.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with a choice of PT, G or NPT threads, differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains, a 5 um optional element, gauge scale options and a low-pressure type. Rated flow is published as curves rather than a single figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet and sizing for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR400-15T AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2 Auto Drain Is Used

factory

Packaging line air preparation

Feeding clean, pressure-controlled air to a packaging machine's cylinders and actuators, with automatic drain keeping condensate off the line during continuous shifts.

conveyor_belt

Conveyor drive circuits

Regulating supply pressure to conveyor air cylinders and blow-off nozzles while the 40 um element stops pipe scale and water reaching the valves.

settings_input_component

Pneumatic panel supply

Mounted on the bracket inside a control panel, filtering and regulating the air feeding directional valves and air logic components, with the MPa gauge giving local set-point readout.

Is the GFR400-15T AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2 Auto Drain the Right Unit?

Choose the size 400 / 1/2 in port step against your line's required flow, since larger sizes carry larger ports and higher flow capacity. This unit's automatic drain suits unmanned or hard-to-reach installations; a manual or differential-pressure drain is the alternative where you prefer operator-controlled or pressure-differential purging. The 40 um element is the standard grade; specify the 5 um (W) option where finer particulate removal is needed. The round gauge is fitted here reading in MPa, with psi or bar scales selectable, and the embedded square gauge is the standard alternative. PT is the standard thread; G and NPT are catalogue options to order - this unit is the NPT version. A mounting bracket is included.

Because flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR400-15T AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2 Auto Drain FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Tell us your application and we will confirm the flow and sizing from the datasheet on request.

The automatic drain (code A) purges collected condensate by itself, so the bowl does not need manual draining - useful for unmanned or elevated installations. With this drain type the regulator adjusts from 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi), with a maximum inlet pressure of 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and an operating temperature of -5 to 70 C, non-freezing.
