The AirTAC GFR40010ALJC2WG AirTAC Filter Regulator G3/8, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400 series combines water and particulate filtration with pressure regulation in a single filter-regulator body. This configuration, the GFR40010ALJC2WG, is the size 400 unit with a G3/8 (BSPP) port, a 5 um filter element (the finer of the two published grades), and an automatic drain that bleeds accumulated condensate from the PC bowl without manual attention. It is the low-pressure regulator type, fitted with an external round pressure gauge reading in psi, and is supplied without a mounting bracket. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the operating temperature range is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is published in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600, with port sizes from 1/8 to 1 inch, a choice of differential-pressure, automatic or manual drain, 40 um or 5 um filtration, standard or low-pressure regulation, square or round gauges in MPa, psi or bar scales, and PT, G or NPT threads. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet and sizing for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| G | G (BSPP) thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Position this filter regulator on the air feed to a spray booth, where the 5 um element helps keep fine particulate out of the finishing air and the low-pressure regulator holds a gentle, stable supply pressure to the spray guns.
Fit the unit ahead of the valve stack on a cartoning or wrapping machine, filtering condensate and debris from the shop air and regulating pressure down to the level the cylinders and grippers were designed around.
Use it at the bench drop on a lab or test-rig air manifold, where the automatic drain keeps the PC bowl clear without daily attention and the psi gauge gives a direct reading of the regulated pressure delivered to the apparatus.
Start with the port step: this unit is size 400 with a G3/8 port; step up or down a size if your line runs 1/2 inch or 1/4 inch. The 5 um element (code W) suits circuits that need finer particulate control than the 40 um standard grade; both grades are published options on the same body. The automatic drain on this unit suits unattended installations where someone cannot regularly bleed the bowl; a manual or differential-pressure drain is the alternative where that fits the maintenance routine. Note this is the low-pressure regulator type, so confirm the control band suits your circuit - the exact range for the low-pressure type is not published and we will confirm it on request. The round psi gauge is fitted as coded; square embedded gauges and MPa or bar scales are the other published choices. G (BSPP) is the thread coded here; PT and NPT are order options, and PT is the standard thread of the range. A mounting bracket is available if you want panel fixing - this code omits it.
Because flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR400 series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Tell us your application and line pressure and we will confirm the flow data from the datasheet on request.
Both are decoded from the model code: the W in GFR40010ALJC2WG selects the 5 um filter grade instead of the 40 um standard, and the A selects the automatic drain, which expels collected condensate from the PC bowl by itself. A manual or differential-pressure drain and the 40 um grade are the other published choices on the same series.
