The AirTAC GFR40010ALJF3T AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT3/8, Auto Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The GFR40010ALJF3T is an AirTAC GFR400 filter regulator: water and particulate filtration plus downstream pressure regulation in a single body. This size 400 unit has 3/8 in NPT ports, an automatic drain that expels collected condensate without manual attention, the standard 40 um filter element, and a low-pressure regulator fitted with an embedded square gauge scaled in bar. The polycarbonate bowl lets you see the condensate level at a glance, and the J code means no mounting bracket is included.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is offered in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 to 1 in, a choice of differential-pressure, automatic or manual drain, a 40 um standard or 5 um (W) filter element, standard or low-pressure regulation, square or round gauges with MPa, psi or bar scales, and G, NPT or PT threads. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm sizing and datasheet figures against your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 3 | Gauge scale: bar. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeds filtered, regulated air to the cylinder and valve manifold bank on a carton-forming or wrapping machine, with the automatic drain keeping condensate out of the valves between shifts.
Conditions the supply to gripper and vacuum-generator lines on a robotic handling cell, where the low-pressure regulator holds a gentle, repeatable setpoint for delicate parts.
Filters and regulates air to pneumatic clamps and workholding fixtures on a machining line, with the bar-scaled square gauge giving the operator a direct setpoint reference.
Size 400 with 3/8 in NPT ports suits lines whose air demand sits in the middle of the G-series range; step up to size 600 or down to 300/200 as your flow curve requires. The automatic drain is the right choice where the unit is mounted in an awkward spot or where someone forgetting to bleed the bowl would put moisture back into the line. The 40 um element is the standard grade for general plant air; specify the W code if you need the 5 um element. This is the low-pressure (L) regulator type; its exact adjustment range is not published in the material we hold, so confirm it with us before ordering if your setpoint is critical. The square gauge here reads in bar; MPa and psi scales and an external round gauge are alternatives. NPT is the thread on this code; PT is the catalogue standard and G (BSPP) is also orderable. A bracket is not included with the J code but can be specified on other variants. Because flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for this family as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a l/min, SCFM or Cv number. Tell us your line pressure, setpoint and air demand and we will confirm the correct size against the datasheet curves on request before you order.
The A code in the model specifies the automatic drain, which ejects collected condensate by itself instead of waiting for a manual bleed. The F3 code specifies the embedded square gauge with a bar scale; MPa and psi scales and an external round gauge are available on other variants.
