GFR40010C1T AirTAC Filter Regulator 3/8 in NPT

The AirTAC GFR40010C1T AirTAC Filter Regulator 3/8 in NPT is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR40010C1T AirTAC Filter Regulator 3/8 in NPT

The GFR40010C1T is an AirTAC GFR-series filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and holds downstream pressure at your setpoint in one body. This size 400 unit is threaded 3/8 in NPT, carries the standard 40 um filter element, and drains its polycarbonate bowl via the differential-pressure drain. The standard regulator covers a 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi) setting range, and this configuration is fitted with a round pressure gauge reading in MPa. Max inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), operating temperature is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing), and a mounting bracket is included.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR range spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with ports from 1/8 in to 1 in, PT as the standard thread and G or NPT to order, plus a finer 5 um (W) element, automatic or manual drains, gauge styles and MPa/psi/bar scales, and a reverse/check valve option across the series. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the figures from the datasheet for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

(blank)Drain: Differential-pressure drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)).
(blank)Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type.
(blank)Mounting bracket included.
(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
CGauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square.
1Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
TNPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

precision_manufacturing

Pneumatic press air prep

Filtered, regulated supply to a pneumatic press cylinder and its valve stack, holding a steady setpoint so cycle force stays consistent across shifts.

valve

Control valve supply skid

Conditioning air ahead of positioners and pilot-operated control valves on a process skid, where clean air and stable pressure keep actuator control predictable.

Packaging line point-of-use

Point-of-use air prep on a packaging machine's actuator banks, with the differential-pressure drain handling condensate before it reaches cylinders and grippers.

Is the GFR40010C1T AirTAC Filter Regulator 3/8 in NPT the Right Unit?

Size and port step up together: 200, 300, 400 and 600 cover 1/8 in to 1 in ports, so choose the size whose flow curve covers your consumption at working pressure. Pick the drain to suit the install - differential-pressure (this unit) as the default, automatic for unattended lines, manual where an operator drains at shutdown. The 40 um element is standard; specify 5 um (code W) for finer protection. Gauges come embedded square or external round with MPa, psi or bar scales; thread is PT standard with G and NPT as order options, and a bracket is included unless code J is specified. Because AirTAC publishes flow as curves, not a single rating, send us your flow and pressure requirements and we will confirm sizing from the datasheet before you order.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT3/8" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR40010C1T AirTAC Filter Regulator 3/8 in NPT FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves rather than a single rated figure, so no one number is honest to quote. Send us your line pressure, setpoint and air consumption and we will confirm the flow figures from the datasheet for size 400 at 3/8 in before you order.

This unit uses the differential-pressure drain, the default for the GFR series. Code A gives an automatic drain for lines you want to clear condensate without attention, and code M gives a manual drain where an operator drains the bowl at shutdown. All three drain types are available across the range.
