GFR40010JC3T AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT3/8

The AirTAC GFR40010JC3T AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT3/8 is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR40010JC3T AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT3/8

The GFR40010JC3T is an AirTAC GFR400 filter regulator: one body that removes water and particulate from compressed air and then regulates downstream pressure. This 400-size unit has a 3/8 in NPT port, a differential-pressure drain that bleeds collected condensate whenever the pressure differential across the element is high enough, and a 40 um standard filter element. The regulator is the standard type with a 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi) setting range, and a round gauge scaled in bar is fitted so the set pressure can be read directly. No mounting bracket is included and no reverse/check valve is fitted.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, and options include manual or automatic drains, a 5 um element (code W), different gauge styles and scales, G or NPT threads, and a mounting bracket. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet and sizing for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

GFR400G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range.
10Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
(blank)Drain: Differential-pressure drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)).
(blank)Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type.
JSupplied without bracket.
(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
CGauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square.
3Gauge scale: bar. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
TNPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR40010JC3T AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT3/8 Is Used

precision_manufacturing

CNC machine air preparation

Feeds clean, regulated air to the tool-change clamp and air-blow circuits of a CNC machining centre, with the bar gauge letting the setter verify clamp pressure at the panel.

conveyor_belt

Packaging line actuator supply

Conditions the air feeding cylinder-driven carton former and sealing heads on a packaging conveyor, keeping water and debris out of the valves while holding a stable set pressure.

factory

Plant air drop for assembly benches

Installed at the point-of-use drop on a factory assembly bench, filtering the shop air supply and regulating it for air tools and small pneumatic fixtures.

Is the GFR40010JC3T AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT3/8 the Right Unit?

Choose the size by port and required flow: this unit is size 400 with a 3/8 in NPT port; smaller 200/300 sizes step down to 1/8-1/4 in and size 600 steps up to 3/4-1 in. The differential-pressure drain suits lines that run steadily, while an automatic drain (code A) or a manual drain (code M) can be ordered instead. The 40 um element is standard; order code W for a 5 um element where finer filtration is needed. The fitted round gauge reads in bar; square embedded gauges and MPa or psi scales are available. NPT is specified here, and G (BSPP) or PT threads can be ordered. A bracket (code J omits it) and a reverse/check valve (code K) are also order choices. Because flow is published as curves and not a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT3/8" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR40010JC3T AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT3/8 FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR400 as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a rated flow, Cv or SCFM figure. Tell us your line pressure and the flow your application needs and we will confirm the sizing against the datasheet on request.

This unit's drain opens to discharge collected condensate when the pressure differential across the filter element rises high enough, so it suits lines that run regularly. If your line stops often or you prefer control, the same size can be ordered with an automatic drain (code A) or a manual drain (code M).
