The AirTAC GFR40010MLJF3WTK AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT3/8 is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a filter regulator: one body that removes water and particulate from compressed air and then regulates downstream pressure. This size 400 unit is fitted with NPT3/8 ports, a 5 um filter element (code W, finer than the standard 40 um), a manual drain for the polycarbonate bowl, a low-pressure regulator section, an embedded square gauge scaled in bar, and a reverse/check valve that holds downstream pressure when the upstream supply drops. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8" to 1", a choice of manual, automatic or differential-pressure drains, 40 um or 5 um filtration, gauge scale options, G/NPT thread variants and bracket choices. Flow figures for this series are published as curves rather than a single rated number, so ask us to confirm the datasheet and sizing for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 3 | Gauge scale: bar. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeding clamps and swing cylinders on a CNC machining cell: the 5 um element protects the clamping valves from fine particulate, the regulator holds a steady low-pressure clamp force, and the check valve keeps the circuit from venting if the main supply dips mid-cycle.
Point-of-use preparation ahead of a packaging machine's valve manifold: water and fine dirt are stripped out at the 3/8" drop, pressure is set for the machine's low-pressure circuit, and the bar gauge gives the operator a clear local setpoint reading.
Conditioning the supply to a pick-and-place robot's gripper and vacuum-generator circuit: the manual-drain bowl is serviced at shift checks, the regulator holds the gripper pressure stable, and the check valve prevents the grippers from releasing on a supply interruption.
Size 400 with 3/8" ports suits lines where your existing pipework is 3/8" and the flow demand sits above the 300 frame; step up to 600 or down to 300 based on the curve, not a single rating. The 5 um element (W) is the right choice when downstream valves and cylinders are sensitive to fine particulate; the standard 40 um element is adequate for general shop-air protection. The manual drain means an operator opens the bowl drain during checks - choose automatic or differential-pressure drain instead if the unit is mounted where routine draining is impractical. The square gauge here reads in bar; MPa and psi scales are also available, and an external round gauge is an option. NPT threads are the order option on this code (PT is the series standard; G/BSPP is also offered). No mounting bracket is included on this configuration (code J), and the low-pressure regulator section (code L) is intended for circuits that hold lower regulated pressures than the standard type. Because flow is published as curves, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Tell us your line pressure, regulated setpoint and expected air demand and we will confirm the flow and sizing from the datasheet for this exact model before you order.
Both are decoded from the model code. M is the manual-drain bowl: an operator drains it during routine checks, which suits units mounted where they are easy to reach; automatic or differential-pressure drains are available on other codes for unattended positions. W is the 5 um filter grade, finer than the standard 40 um element, chosen when downstream valves and cylinders need finer particulate protection.
