The AirTAC GFR40015AF1T AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2, Auto Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR40015AF1T is a size 400 filter regulator that removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration has a 1/2 in NPT port, a 40 um standard filter element, an automatic drain that expels collected condensate without manual attention, a fitted embedded square gauge scaled in MPa, and a standard regulator with an adjustment range of 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi). Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), and the operating temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). The polycarbonate bowl suits the 400 size, and a mounting bracket is included.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600, with port options from 1/8 in to 1 in, PT as the standard thread and G or NPT as order options, manual or automatic drain choices, an optional 5 um (W) filter grade, and MPa, psi or bar gauge scales. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Installed at the point where the 1/2 in main drops to a work zone, cleaning the compressed air and holding a steady regulated pressure for the tools and actuators served from that drop.
Feeding filtered, regulated air to the pick-and-place and clamp cylinders on a packaging conveyor, with the automatic drain handling condensate on a line that runs unattended between shifts.
Conditioning the air supply to a CNC fixture's clamping circuit, where the 40 um element protects the clamping valves and the regulator holds the clamping pressure the fixture was set up for.
Start with the port step: this unit is the size 400 body with a 1/2 in NPT port, the right choice when your line runs 1/2 in piping and you need filtration plus regulation in one unit. Choose the drain to match access: automatic drain (this model) suits installations that are not checked daily; manual drain suits attended stations; differential-pressure drain is the catalogue default. Filter grade is 40 um as standard, with 5 um (code W) available where finer particulate removal is needed. The fitted square gauge reads in MPa; psi and bar scales are order options, and an external round gauge is also available. Thread is NPT here, with PT standard and G offered as alternatives; a mounting bracket is included.
Because flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, we cannot quote one number here. Send us your application's flow and pressure requirements and we will confirm sizing against the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote one here. Tell us your required flow and working pressure and we will confirm the sizing from the datasheet on request before you order.
The A in the code gives this unit an automatic drain, which expels collected condensate from the bowl without anyone opening it - useful for installations that run unattended. A manual drain (code M) is chosen where an operator is present at the station and wants to control draining; it also carries a wider regulation range of 0.05-0.9 MPa versus 0.15-0.9 MPa for the automatic-drain version.
