The AirTAC GFR40015JC2G AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/2, 40 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR40015JC2G is a size 400 filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in one body. This configuration has 1/2 in G (BSPP) ports, standard 40 um filtration, a differential-pressure drain that bleeds condensate automatically as flow passes through, and a standard regulator with a 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi) adjustment range. A round pressure gauge scaled in psi is fitted so the setpoint can be read directly, and the unit is supplied without a mounting bracket. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). The bowl on this 400 size is polycarbonate (PC).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is published in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 to 1 in, and with choices of drain type, 40 um or 5 um (W) filtration, gauge style and scale, thread form and bracket. Flow for this series is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us and we will confirm the datasheet figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| (blank) | Drain: Differential-pressure drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| G | G (BSPP) thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeding clean, regulated air to a pneumatic press or clamping fixture on a 1/2 in line, where the operator sets working pressure on the psi gauge and the differential drain keeps condensate moving out during production.
Conditioning the air supply to a packaging or cartoning machine, filtering water and pipe scale to 40 um before it reaches valves and cylinders, with the regulator holding a stable setpoint through shift-long cycling.
Supplying regulated air to conveyor gate and diverter actuators in a plant, where the combined filter-regulator in one body saves panel space and the differential-pressure drain handles moisture without operator attention.
Start with the size and port: the 400 frame with 1/2 in ports suits lines fed at that pipe size, and the next size up or down changes both port and flow capacity. Choose the drain to match the installation: differential-pressure (this unit) drains as air flows, automatic (code A) drains on a cycle, and manual (code M) needs an operator. Filtration is 40 um as standard; order the W suffix for 5 um where finer protection is needed. Gauge options are the embedded square gauge or an external round gauge, scaled in MPa, psi or bar - this unit carries a round psi gauge. Thread is stated here as G (BSPP); PT is the catalogue standard and NPT is also an order option. Brackets are optional (code J omits it).
Because flow is published as curves and not a single rating, send us your application details and we will confirm sizing against the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a figure. Send us your line size and air demand and we will confirm the flow from the datasheet on request before you order.
This configuration uses the differential-pressure drain, which discharges collected condensate automatically as air flows through the unit. If your line runs intermittently at low flow, the automatic drain (code A) or the manual drain (code M) variants are the alternatives to specify.
