GFR40015MC2G AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/2

The AirTAC GFR40015MC2G AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/2 is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR40015MC2G AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/2

The GFR40015MC2G is an AirTAC GFR400 filter regulator: a single body that removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure. This configuration is sized for a G1/2 port, uses the standard 40 um filter element, and has a manual drain, so the polycarbonate bowl is drained by hand as part of routine maintenance. It is fitted with a round pressure gauge reading in psi and includes a mounting bracket. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing).

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with a choice of port, thread (PT standard, with G and NPT as order options), drain type (differential-pressure, automatic or manual), 40 um or 5 um filtration, gauge style and scale, and standard or low-pressure regulation. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we confirm flow and other datasheet figures on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

CGauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square.
2Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
GG (BSPP) thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR40015MC2G AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/2 Is Used

precision_manufacturing

Pneumatic press feed

Filter and regulate the air feeding a pneumatic press or stamping cylinder: the 40 um element strips water and swarf from the shop-air drop while the regulator holds the set pressure the tooling was sized for.

conveyor_belt

Packaging line actuators

Point-of-use conditioning ahead of packaging conveyor stops, clamps and diverters - clean, regulated air at each drop instead of relying on the compressor room to do the whole job.

factory

Assembly cell air drops

A filter regulator at the wall drop of a manual assembly cell keeps hand-held pneumatic tools and small cylinders supplied with dry air at a stable, repeatable setting.

Is the GFR40015MC2G AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/2 the Right Unit?

Size 400 with a G1/2 port sits in the middle of the GFR range; step up or down (200/300/400/600) according to the air your line needs - we can check the published flow curves against your application before you order. This unit has a manual drain, so plan for someone to drain the bowl; automatic or differential-pressure drains are catalogue options if you prefer not to rely on manual draining. The standard element is 40 um; specify code W for the 5 um grade where finer filtration is needed. The fitted round gauge reads in psi (MPa and bar scales are options), the regulator is the standard type with a 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi) adjustment range, and a mounting bracket is included. Thread here is G; PT is the standard thread and NPT can be ordered. Because flow is published as curves and not a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT1/2" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR40015MC2G AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/2 FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Tell us your port size, working pressure and expected air demand, and we will confirm the sizing against the datasheet curves on request.

The M in the code means the bowl is drained by hand - simple and reliable when someone is at the machine regularly. Automatic and differential-pressure drains are catalogue options on the GFR family if you would rather not rely on manual draining.
