The AirTAC GFR40015MJC2 AirTAC Filter Regulator PT1/2, 40 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR40015MJC2 is a GFR400 series filter regulator: one body that removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure. This configuration has a PT1/2 (1/2 in) port, the standard 40 um filtration element, a manual drain on the polycarbonate bowl, a fitted round gauge reading in psi, and no mounting bracket. Downstream pressure is adjustable from 0.05 to 0.9 MPa (7 to 130 psi), with a maximum inlet pressure of 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
It is a genuine AirTAC part, rated for -5 to 70 C (non-freezing) compressed air. The GFR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with ports from 1/8 in to 1 in, plus drain, filter-grade, gauge, thread and bracket options, so a variant can be matched to most lines. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating; we confirm flow and other datasheet figures on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Filtered, regulated air to the tool-change clamps and pneumatic valves of a CNC machining cell, with the psi gauge giving a direct readout at the setpoint.
Feeding diverters, pushers and gripper cylinders on a packaging conveyor line, where one unit both cleans the air and holds the working pressure on the drop.
Instrument air for a laboratory or test rig, where the 40 um element and a manual-drain bowl suit a bench that is checked and drained as part of the daily routine.
Size and port step up with air demand: 400 is the larger mid size, here with a 1/2 in PT thread; step to 600 or down to 300/200 if your line needs more or less air. Drain is manual on this unit - the bowl is drained by hand - so choose it where the drop is checked regularly; automatic (A) and differential-pressure variants exist if it cannot be. Filtration is the standard 40 um element; specify code W for the 5 um element where finer protection matters. The regulator adjusts from 0.05 to 0.9 MPa (7 to 130 psi) on this manual-drain version. The round gauge here reads psi; the embedded square gauge is standard and MPa or bar scales are options, and G (BSPP) or NPT threads can be ordered instead of PT. No bracket is included with the J code. Flow is published as curves, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR400 as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Send us your application details and we will confirm the flow data from the datasheet before you order.
The M in the code specifies a manual drain: water collected in the bowl is drained by hand at intervals you set. If the unit will be mounted where it cannot be checked often, ask about the automatic (A) or differential-pressure drain variants of the GFR400 in PT1/2.
