The AirTAC GFR40015MJC2WG AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/2, 5 um, Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The GFR40015MJC2WG is an AirTAC GFR400 filter regulator: water and particulate filtration plus pressure regulation combined in a single body. Air passes through a 5 um element that strips moisture and debris before the regulated outlet, so downstream valves, cylinders and air tools receive clean air at a set pressure. This configuration is the 400 size with a G1/2 (BSPP) port, a manual drain that the operator twists to empty the polycarbonate bowl, a round pressure gauge reading in psi, standard regulation (0.05-0.9 MPa / 7-130 psi with manual drain), no reverse/check valve, and no mounting bracket. Rated to 1.0 MPa (145 psi) inlet and -5 to 70 C (non-freezing).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family runs in 200, 300, 400 and 600 sizes with ports from 1/8 in to 1 in, a choice of manual, automatic or differential-pressure drains, 40 um standard or 5 um (W) filtration, embedded square or external round gauges in MPa, psi or bar scales, and PT, G or NPT threads. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| G | G (BSPP) thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feed filtered, regulated air to the tool-clamp and part-clamp circuits on a CNC machining cell, keeping chips and condensed water out of the clamping valves while holding a steady set pressure at the machine.
Place this unit ahead of the spray guns on a paint finishing line so the atomizing air is free of water and fine particles and the gun supply pressure stays where the finish recipe calls for it.
Supply the pneumatic cylinders that lower, hold and eject cartons on a packaging conveyor, with the 5 um element protecting the directional valves and the regulator keeping stroke speed consistent.
Step up through the sizes by port and demand: 200 to 600 cover 1/8 in to 1 in ports, and this 400 size with its G1/2 port suits lines running larger pneumatic loads. Drain type: manual (this unit) means an operator empties the bowl on a schedule; automatic or differential-pressure drains better suit unattended installations. Filter grade: 40 um is the standard element, while the 5 um (W) element fitted here is the choice for finer pneumatic components. Gauge: the embedded square gauge is standard and the external round gauge (this unit, psi scale) is optional, with MPa, psi or bar scales available. Thread: PT is the standard, with G (BSPP) and NPT as order options - this unit is G. Bracket: the J code means no mounting bracket is supplied. Flow is published as curves, not a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR400 series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Tell us your line pressure and the air demand of your equipment and we will confirm the correct size and the datasheet flow curve on request.
The M in the code selects a manual drain: an operator opens the drain at the bottom of the polycarbonate bowl on a set schedule, which suits attended cells; automatic and differential-pressure drains are available on other variants for unattended lines. The W code selects the 5 um element instead of the 40 um standard, the choice when downstream components such as precision valves need finer filtration.
