The AirTAC GFR40015MJNWTK AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400 series combines water and particulate filtration with pressure regulation in a single body, sized for 1/2 in lines. This configuration is built with a 5 um filter element for finer cleaning than the standard 40 um grade, a manual drain bowl in polycarbonate that you empty by hand, and a built-in reverse (check) valve that holds the downstream circuit if upstream supply is lost. No gauge is fitted, so add your own if downstream pressure must be read at the unit. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the regulator adjusts from 0.05 to 0.9 MPa (7-130 psi).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with a choice of ports, drain types, filter grades, gauge options and thread forms (PT standard, G and NPT to order). Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| N | No pressure gauge (N). |
| (blank) | Gauge shape: Factory standard. C is round, F is square. |
| (blank) | Gauge scale: Factory standard. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeds clean, regulated air to the tool-change clamps and pneumatic actuators on a machining centre, with the 5 um element protecting fine-tolerance valve spools from particles and the check valve holding clamp pressure if the shop supply drops.
Supplies filtered, regulated air to divert gates, pushers and sealing jaws on a packaging conveyor, where the manual-drain bowl suits a line that is bled down and checked at every shift start.
Regulates supply to the gripper and clamp manifold in a robotic weld cell, with the built-in reverse valve keeping clamps engaged against a momentary upstream pressure loss and the 5 um grade guarding the manifold's control valves.
Size 400 with a 1/2 in port suits lines where flow demand is well above the smaller 200/300 frames; step up or down by port size against your air demand, and we will confirm the flow curve for the exact size before you order. The 5 um (W) element is the right choice when downstream valves and cylinders need finer protection than the standard 40 um grade. Manual drain means an operator drains the bowl on a routine - choose automatic or differential-pressure drain instead if the unit sits where nobody passes regularly. No gauge is supplied; if you want local pressure reading, order a variant with the embedded square gauge or an external round gauge in MPa, psi or bar scale. This unit is NPT threaded; PT is the catalogue standard and G (BSPP) is also orderable. No mounting bracket is included with the J code.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes GFR flow as curves across the pressure range, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Tell us your line pressure and air demand and we will confirm the datasheet flow curve for this exact 400-size, 1/2 in configuration before you order.
This unit's M code means the polycarbonate bowl is drained by hand: an operator opens the drain at a set interval. Choose manual when the unit is accessible and checked routinely; choose automatic (A) or differential-pressure (blank) drain when the unit is mounted where nobody passes regularly, so collected water is expelled without attention.
