The AirTAC GFR40015MLC3WT AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2 Low-Pressure is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The GFR40015MLC3WT is an AirTAC GFR400 filter regulator: one body that removes water and particulate from compressed air and then regulates downstream pressure. This configuration is built for 1/2 in NPT ports, carries the fine 5 um filter element (code W) instead of the standard 40 um element, and uses a manual drain, so an operator opens the drain at the bowl to discharge collected condensate on a chosen schedule. It is the low-pressure regulator type and is fitted with an external round pressure gauge reading in bar. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is offered in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with a choice of ports, thread forms (PT standard, with G and NPT as order options), drain types, filter grades and gauge styles, and the 400 size bowl is polycarbonate (PC). Flow is published by AirTAC as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm flow and datasheet figures for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| (blank) | Mounting bracket included. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 3 | Gauge scale: bar. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Point-of-use conditioning ahead of a machining centre's pneumatic valves and actuators: the 5 um element strips fine particulate and water before the low-pressure regulator sets a gentle supply pressure for sensitive machine circuits, with the bar gauge giving the operator a direct reading.
Mounted at the drop feeding conveyor gate and diverter cylinders in a processing plant, where the fine 5 um filtration protects downstream components and the low-pressure regulator holds a reduced, stable setting for light-duty actuation, bled manually at shift checks via the drain.
Conditioning and regulating the low-pressure air supply that purges or powers benchtop analytical instruments, where the 5 um grade keeps the supply clean, the round bar gauge lets technicians verify the setting at a glance, and the manual drain is emptied during scheduled maintenance.
For this model the real decisions are already made in the code: 400 size with 1/2 in NPT ports, the 5 um fine filter element, a manual drain, the low-pressure regulator type, and a round bar gauge. If you are comparing options, the 5 um element suits air that feeds sensitive components, while the standard 40 um element suits general-purpose lines; a manual drain needs someone to bleed the bowl, whereas automatic or differential-pressure drains do that without attention. Thread is NPT here - PT is the AirTAC standard and G (BSPP) is the other order option - and a mounting bracket is included. Flow for this family is published as curves, not a single rating, so please ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR400 as performance curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a rated flow, Cv or SCFM number. Send us your application details and we will confirm the flow and full datasheet figures for this exact model on request before you order.
The M in the code selects the manual drain: condensate collected in the polycarbonate bowl is released by opening the drain by hand, so it suits installations that are checked on a regular schedule. If you want the bowl emptied without operator attention, the GFR400 is also available with automatic or differential-pressure drains - ask us for those variants.
