The AirTAC GFR40015MLF1WT AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The GFR40015MLF1WT is an AirTAC GFR400 filter regulator: water and particulate filtration plus downstream pressure regulation in a single body. This configuration is a size 400 unit with a 1/2 in NPT thread, a 5 um filter element (code W, finer than the 40 um standard), a manual drain on the PC bowl, the low-pressure regulator type, and a fitted embedded square gauge scaled in MPa. No reverse/check valve is fitted, and the mounting bracket is included.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, a choice of drain types, 40 um or 5 um elements, standard or low-pressure regulation, gauge options and PT, G or NPT threads. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| (blank) | Mounting bracket included. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Clean, regulated air feeding a bank of directional control valves on a packaging or assembly machine, where the 5 um element protects spool clearances and the gauge lets operators verify set pressure at a glance.
Supplying low-pressure actuation circuits on clamping fixtures or light-duty pneumatic presses, where the low-pressure regulator type holds a modest working pressure and the manual drain is serviced during shift checks.
A filtered, regulated drop point on a weaving, printing or converting line, removing condensed water and fine particulate before air reaches guides, jets and small actuators along the machine frame.
Size 400 with a 1/2 in NPT port suits lines whose air demand sits in the upper mid-range of the G-series; step up to size 600 or down to size 300 according to the flow curve for your consumption. The 5 um element (W) is the right choice when downstream valves, cylinders or instruments are sensitive to finer particles; the 40 um standard element suits general-purpose supply. The manual drain means an operator opens the bowl drain periodically - choose the automatic or differential-pressure drain variant instead if the unit is mounted where regular manual draining is impractical. This is the low-pressure (L) regulator type; its exact adjustment range is not published on the sheet we work from, so confirm it with us. Gauge scale options are MPa, psi or bar, and PT is the standard thread with G and NPT as orderable options. Flow is published as curves, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as performance curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a rated flow, Cv or SCFM number. Tell us your line pressure and air consumption and we will confirm the sizing from the datasheet on request before you order.
The M in the code specifies a manual drain: condensate collected in the PC bowl is released by opening the drain by hand, which suits stations checked as part of a routine. If the unit will be mounted in an awkward or unattended position, order the automatic (A) or differential-pressure (blank) drain variant of the same GFR400 size instead.
