The AirTAC GFR40015MLJC1WT AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2 Low-Pressure is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The GFR400 series combines water and particulate filtration with pressure regulation in a single body. This unit, GFR40015MLJC1WT, is built with 1/2 in NPT ports, a 5 um filter element in place of the standard 40 um grade, a manual drain on the polycarbonate bowl, and the low-pressure regulator type with an external round gauge on an MPa scale. No mounting bracket is fitted and no reverse (check) valve is included.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200 to 600 with ports from 1/8 to 1 in, a choice of drain types, 40 um or 5 um elements, gauge styles and scales, and PT, G or NPT threads. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the figures from the datasheet for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeding filtered, regulated air to clamping cylinders that hold workpieces on a machining fixture, where the circuit is set to a low working pressure rather than full line pressure.
Conditioning the supply to a packaging machine's actuators: the 5 um element strips water and particulate from the compressed air before the regulator sets the working pressure downstream.
Cleaning and regulating shop air for benchtop test rigs and lab instruments that need a stable, low-pressure air feed at the bench, with fine 5 um filtration protecting sensitive equipment.
Size and port: the 400 size steps up from the 300 in both port and flow capacity, and this unit carries 1/2 in NPT ports - PT is the standard thread, with G and NPT as order options, and this one is specified in NPT. Match the size step to the air demand of your line, and we will confirm the flow curve against your requirement before you order. Drain: this model uses a manual drain, so the bowl is emptied by hand as part of routine maintenance; automatic and differential-pressure drains are available as variants. Filtration: the W code selects the 5 um element over the standard 40 um grade - choose 5 um where downstream equipment is sensitive to finer contamination. Gauge and extras: an external round gauge on an MPa scale is fitted; an embedded square gauge and psi or bar scales are options. The low-pressure regulator type suits circuits set well below full line pressure; its exact adjustment range is not published, so confirm it with us. A mounting bracket can be specified if panel mounting is needed.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR400 as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Send us your application details - line pressure, port size and air demand - and we will confirm the flow and sizing from the datasheet before you order.
The M in GFR40015MLJC1WT codes a manual drain: the polycarbonate bowl is emptied by hand as part of routine maintenance. The GFR400 series is also available with an automatic or a differential-pressure drain - ask us to quote the variant you need.
