The AirTAC GFR40015MLJNTK AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2 Low-Pressure is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR40015MLJNTK is a GFR-series filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This 400-size unit is built with 1/2 in NPT ports, a manual drain bowl in polycarbonate, and the standard 40 um filter element. It is the low-pressure (L) type, so it is intended for circuits that hold a lower regulated set-point than a standard unit; the exact low-pressure range is not published, so confirm it against your set-point before ordering. A reverse/check valve is fitted, no gauge is supplied, and no mounting bracket is included.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with a choice of ports, threads (PT standard, G and NPT as options), drain types, 40 um or 5 um filtration and gauge options. We do not quote a single rated flow figure because AirTAC publishes flow as curves; ask us and we will confirm the datasheet figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| N | No pressure gauge (N). |
| (blank) | Gauge shape: Factory standard. C is round, F is square. |
| (blank) | Gauge scale: Factory standard. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

On a bench or C-frame pneumatic press, this unit filters water and swarf out of the shop air supply and holds a low regulated pressure to the cylinder circuit, with the check valve holding the downstream circuit if supply dips.
Feeding bagger or cartoner actuator circuits, the 1/2 in NPT connection suits the main drop, the 40 um element protects directional valves from condensate and particles, and the low-pressure regulation suits actuators specified below standard line pressure.
At a lab or test-bench air drop, the unit cleans the compressed air supply and regulates it down to the low pressure the bench instruments or air-bearing fixtures need, with manual drain suited to a supervised environment.
Work from the port and size first: this unit is 400 size with 1/2 in NPT ports, so match it to your line size and required air demand. If your circuit runs at a lower regulated pressure than a standard unit covers, the L (low-pressure) type is the right pick - ask us to confirm the exact range. Drain choice matters: this model has a manual drain you operate yourself; automatic and differential-pressure drains are available in the family if you want unattended water removal. Filtration is the standard 40 um element; specify W for 5 um if downstream equipment needs finer air. No gauge is fitted on this code - gauge options with MPa, psi or bar scales exist if you want local pressure readout. PT is the standard thread; G and NPT are orderable options, and this code carries NPT. No mounting bracket is included with the J code.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Tell us your line size and air demand and we will confirm the datasheet flow figures for this 400-size, 1/2 in NPT unit against your application on request.
The M in the code means the polycarbonate bowl has a manual drain that you operate to remove collected condensate - a good fit where the unit is checked as part of a routine. If the unit will be left unattended, the GFR family also offers automatic (code A) and differential-pressure (default) drains on the same body.
