GFR400C15MF2G AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/2 Manual Drain

The AirTAC GFR400C15MF2G AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/2 Manual Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has See datasheet ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR400C15MF2G AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/2 Manual Drain

The AirTAC GFR400C15MF2G is a size-400 filter regulator: water and particulate removal plus downstream pressure regulation in a single body. This configuration carries a G1/2 (BSPP) female port, a manual drain bowl, the standard 40 um filter element, and an embedded square gauge scaled in psi. The standard regulator covers 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi) with manual drain, maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), and the operating temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). A mounting bracket is included.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR series spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600, with port options from 1/8 to 1 inch, a choice of differential-pressure, automatic or manual drain, an optional 5 um element (code W), gauge scales in MPa, psi or bar, and PT, G or NPT threads. Flow figures are published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the datasheet for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

GFR400G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range.
C1Port size See datasheet. This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
(blank)Drain: Differential-pressure drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)).
(blank)Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type.
(blank)Mounting bracket included.
(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
(blank)Gauge shape: Factory standard. C is round, F is square.
(blank)Gauge scale: Factory standard. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
(blank)PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR400C15MF2G AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/2 Manual Drain Is Used

precision_manufacturing

CNC machining centre air drop

Mounted at the point of use on a machine-tool air drop, it removes water and chips-carried particulate from the shop supply and sets a stable regulated pressure for the machine's pneumatic valves and clamps.

conveyor_belt

Packaging line actuator supply

Installed ahead of the cylinder and gripper bank on a carton-sealing or case-packing conveyor, it cleans the compressed air and holds the working pressure the packaging OEM specifies for consistent actuator stroking.

factory

Plant air branch regulation

Fitted on a branch line feeding a production cell in a food, plastics or assembly plant, it drops header pressure to the cell's working level while knocking out condensate and pipe scale from the main supply.

Is the GFR400C15MF2G AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/2 Manual Drain the Right Unit?

Size 400 with a G1/2 port is the right step when your line volume sits above what a 300-size unit passes; match the size to the flow curve for your demand, which we can confirm from the datasheet on request. Drain choice matters: this unit is manual drain, so someone must bleed the bowl on a routine; choose automatic or differential-pressure drain codes if unattended drainage is needed. The 40 um element is standard; specify the W code for 5 um where finer filtration is required. Gauge scale here is psi; MPa and bar scales are available. Thread is G (BSPP) on this code, with PT and NPT orderable. Brackets are included on this configuration.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (See datasheet here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR400C15MF2G AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/2 Manual Drain FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number. Send us your line pressure and required downstream flow and we will confirm the correct size from the datasheet before you order.

Manual drain means the bowl is bled by hand, which suits attended cells and lines checked as part of a routine. If the unit sits in an unattended or overhead position, choose the automatic (code A) or differential-pressure (blank) drain version of the same GFR400 size instead.
