GR200-08 AirTAC Air Pressure Regulator NPT1/4 Low-Pressure

The AirTAC GR200-08 AirTAC Air Pressure Regulator NPT1/4 Low-Pressure is a genuine G-series air pressure regulator. It holds a stable downstream pressure over the range 0.05 - 0.4 MPa (7 - 58 psi) with PT1/4" ports, and ships with a pressure gauge. A regulator does not filter the air — put a GF filter upstream, or use a GFR filter regulator, when water and particulate must also be removed.

About the GR200-08 AirTAC Air Pressure Regulator NPT1/4 Low-Pressure

The GR200-08 is an AirTAC GR-series air pressure regulator: it does one job, holding a steady downstream pressure from your compressed-air supply, and it contains no filter, no bowl and no lubricator. This is the low-pressure type, so its adjustment range tops out at 0.4 MPa, which suits circuits that must never see full line pressure. The 200 size with an 08 port gives a 1/4 in NPT connection. A square pressure gauge scaled in psi is fitted as standard, and the K code means a reverse/check valve is built in so downstream pressure is held if the upstream supply drops. The J code means no mounting bracket is supplied; the GR body can also be panel-mounted.

This is a genuine AirTAC part from the GR range, which spans the 200, 300, 400 and 600 sizes with 1/8 in to 1 in ports, standard or low-pressure adjustment, gauge or no gauge, and PT, G or NPT threads as order options. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -20 to 70 C, wider than the rest of the G family. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us and we will confirm the datasheet figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. Note the GR temperature range is -20 to +70 °C, wider than the other G-series units. A regulator has no bowl and no filter element, so there is no filtering grade. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

GR200G-series pressure regulator, 200 body — sets the port range.
08Port size PT1/4". This body offers 06 = PT1/8", 08 = PT1/4".
LLow-pressure type — 0.05 - 0.4 MPa (7 - 58 psi). Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type.
JSupplied without bracket.
(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
FGauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square.
2Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
TNPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
KReverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted.

Field order is size, port, type, bracket, gauge, gauge shape, scale, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GR300-08LNK is a 300 body, PT1/4", low-pressure type, no gauge, with reflux valve.

Size Class

  • GR200PT1/8" - PT1/4"
  • GR300PT1/4" - PT1/2"
  • GR400PT3/8" - PT1/2"
  • GR600PT3/4" - PT1"

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom rather than from a single rated figure.

Where the GR200-08 AirTAC Air Pressure Regulator NPT1/4 Low-Pressure Is Used

precision_manufacturing

Low-pressure clamping on a CNC fixture

Soft-jaw and clamp cylinders on a machining fixture often need a gentle, repeatable holding pressure well below main line pressure. The low-pressure GR200-08 lets the setter dial in the clamp force with the fitted psi gauge, and the check valve holds the clamp if the shop air dips mid-cycle.

tune

Spray-gun atomising air on a finishing line

Paint and coating atomising circuits are fussy about supply pressure and are easily overdriven. Feeding the spray guns through this regulator keeps the atomising air at a low, stable setting read directly off the square psi gauge, with the 1/4 in NPT port matching standard gun and fitting threads.

Air tables and low-pressure handling on a packaging line

Air-flotation tables and blow-off nozzles on carton handling conveyors run best at low, steady pressure. The GR200-08 sets that low level once and holds it, and the built-in reverse/check valve stops the table losing its air cushion during a brief upstream pressure drop.

Is the GR200-08 AirTAC Air Pressure Regulator NPT1/4 Low-Pressure the Right Regulator?

Pick the GR size and port by the flow your line needs: 200 with a 1/4 in port is the compact step, stepping up to 300, 400 or 600 for larger ports and higher flow. Choose the low-pressure L type only when your setpoint stays at or below 0.4 MPa; the standard GR type covers 0.05-0.9 MPa. Decide the gauge scale you want (MPa, psi or bar) and whether you need the built-in reverse/check valve for circuits that must hold pressure on supply loss. Thread is PT as the AirTAC standard, with G and NPT as order options - this model is the NPT version. Brackets are optional and the GR is also panel-mountable. Flow is published as curves, not a single rating, so send us your flow and pressure requirements and we will confirm sizing against the datasheet before you order.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT1/4" here)
  • ✓ Standard 0.9 MPa or low-pressure 0.4 MPa
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, or order N without
  • ✓ Gauge shape C round / F square
  • ✓ Scale MPa (1), psi (2) or bar (3)
  • ✓ Reflux valve needed, order K

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Install downstream of the filter, following the airflow arrow.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Set pressure while air is flowing, then lock the knob.
  • check Adjust within 0.05 - 0.4 MPa (7 - 58 psi) only.
  • check Operating range -20 to +70 °C.
  • check Panel-mount or use the fixing bracket; do not hang it on tubing.

The reflux valve lets air flow back through the regulator, which is useful when downstream volume must vent quickly. A regulator does not remove water or particulate; that is the filter's job.

GR200-08 AirTAC Air Pressure Regulator NPT1/4 Low-Pressure FAQ

AirTAC publishes GR flow as curves against inlet and outlet pressure, not as a single rated number, so there is no one flow figure we can honestly quote. Send us your inlet pressure, setpoint and expected air demand and we will confirm the datasheet curve figures for the GR200-08 on request before you order.

The L type is a real catalogue variant of the GR family: its adjustment range tops out at 0.4 MPa, while the standard GR adjusts from 0.05 up to 0.9 MPa. If your circuit must be limited to a low setpoint - clamps, spray air, air tables - the L type keeps the setting in the useful part of the knob. Maximum inlet pressure is still 1.0 MPa (145 psi) either way.
