GR300-08 AirTAC Air Pressure Regulator, NPT1/4

The AirTAC GR300-08 AirTAC Air Pressure Regulator, NPT1/4 is a genuine G-series air pressure regulator. It holds a stable downstream pressure over the range 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi) with PT1/4" ports, and ships with a pressure gauge. A regulator does not filter the air — put a GF filter upstream, or use a GFR filter regulator, when water and particulate must also be removed.

About the GR300-08 AirTAC Air Pressure Regulator, NPT1/4

The GR300-08 is an AirTAC GR-series air pressure regulator for compressed air, built on the size-300 body with a 1/4 in NPT port. This configuration is the standard regulator type with an adjustment range of 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), a round pressure gauge fitted on the MPa scale, and a reverse (check) valve in the code, so downstream pressure is held if the upstream supply drops. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the operating temperature range is -20 to 70 C, wider than the rest of the G family. As a pure regulator, the GR300 has no filter, no bowl and no drain, and it is also panel-mountable.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, and options include a low-pressure type (up to 0.4 MPa), different gauge scales (MPa, psi or bar), G or NPT thread in place of the PT standard, a reverse/check valve, and bracket or no-bracket mounting. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we confirm the datasheet and sizing figures on request before you order.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. Note the GR temperature range is -20 to +70 °C, wider than the other G-series units. A regulator has no bowl and no filter element, so there is no filtering grade. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

CGauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square.
1Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
TNPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
KReverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted.

Field order is size, port, type, bracket, gauge, gauge shape, scale, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GR300-08LNK is a 300 body, PT1/4", low-pressure type, no gauge, with reflux valve.

Size Class

  • GR200PT1/8" - PT1/4"
  • GR300PT1/4" - PT1/2"
  • GR400PT3/8" - PT1/2"
  • GR600PT3/4" - PT1"

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom rather than from a single rated figure.

Where the GR300-08 AirTAC Air Pressure Regulator, NPT1/4 Is Used

valve

Pneumatic clamp and press circuits

Set and hold the clamping pressure on a pneumatic clamp or air press downstream of the FRL, with the check valve holding the set pressure if the main supply dips mid-cycle.

settings_input_component

Packaging machine actuator stations

Feed a dedicated reduced-pressure branch to packaging machine cylinders and actuators, with the round MPa gauge giving the operator a local reading at the setpoint.

precision_manufacturing

Pick-and-place gripper supply

Regulate the supply line to robotic gripper circuits where a lighter, controlled pressure is needed for delicate parts, panel-mounted next to the valve manifold.

Is the GR300-08 AirTAC Air Pressure Regulator, NPT1/4 the Right Regulator?

Start with the port step: size 300 with a 1/4 in NPT port suits lines where the required air demand sits in the middle of the GR range; step up to 400 or 600 for larger consumers and down to 200 for compact circuits. Set the adjustment range against your working pressure - the standard type covers 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), while the low-pressure L type caps at 0.4 MPa. Choose the gauge scale (MPa, psi or bar) to match the instruments already on the machine, and decide whether the reverse/check valve (code K) is needed to hold downstream pressure. Thread is PT as the standard; G (BSPP) and NPT are catalogue options to order. Bracket or no-bracket (J) is a mounting choice, and GR is also panel-mountable.

One honest note on sizing: flow for the GR series is published as pressure-loss curves, not as a single rated number, so ask us to confirm the curve data against your application before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT1/4" here)
  • ✓ Standard 0.9 MPa or low-pressure 0.4 MPa
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, or order N without
  • ✓ Gauge shape C round / F square
  • ✓ Scale MPa (1), psi (2) or bar (3)
  • ✓ Reflux valve needed, order K

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Install downstream of the filter, following the airflow arrow.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Set pressure while air is flowing, then lock the knob.
  • check Adjust within 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi) only.
  • check Operating range -20 to +70 °C.
  • check Panel-mount or use the fixing bracket; do not hang it on tubing.

The reflux valve lets air flow back through the regulator, which is useful when downstream volume must vent quickly. A regulator does not remove water or particulate; that is the filter's job.

GR300-08 AirTAC Air Pressure Regulator, NPT1/4 FAQ

AirTAC publishes GR-series flow as pressure-loss curves rather than a single rated figure, so there is no one rated flow number we can quote. Send us your line pressure, set pressure and air demand and we will confirm the curve data and correct size from the datasheet on request.

K means a reverse (check) valve is fitted: if the upstream supply fails or drops, the valve holds the regulated downstream pressure instead of venting it back. Choose the version without K if you want downstream pressure to release when supply is removed.
