GR40015LF2 AirTAC Low-Pressure Regulator, PT1/2

The AirTAC GR40015LF2 AirTAC Low-Pressure Regulator, PT1/2 is a genuine G-series air pressure regulator. It holds a stable downstream pressure over the range 0.05 - 0.4 MPa (7 - 58 psi) with PT1/2" ports, and ships with a pressure gauge. A regulator does not filter the air — put a GF filter upstream, or use a GFR filter regulator, when water and particulate must also be removed.

About the GR40015LF2 AirTAC Low-Pressure Regulator, PT1/2

The GR40015LF2 is an AirTAC GR-series air pressure regulator: it does one job, holding your downstream pressure steady as upstream supply and air demand fluctuate. This is the low-pressure (L) type, set up for applications that work below the standard range, with regulation up to 0.4 MPa. It is size 400 with PT1/2 (1/2 in) ports, and the F2 suffix means a square pressure gauge is fitted reading in psi, so operators can see and dial in the setpoint directly. As a regulator it has no filter bowl and no lubricator - pair it upstream with a filter if the air needs cleaning.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, in standard and low-pressure types, with PT (standard), G (BSPP) or NPT threads, gauge or no-gauge builds, and bracket or no-bracket options. Published flow data appears as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us and we will confirm the datasheet figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. Note the GR temperature range is -20 to +70 °C, wider than the other G-series units. A regulator has no bowl and no filter element, so there is no filtering grade. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Model Code: GR40015LF2 AirTAC Low-Pressure Regulator, PT1/2

GR400G-series pressure regulator, 400 body — sets the port range.
15Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
LLow-pressure type — 0.05 - 0.4 MPa (7 - 58 psi). Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type.
(blank)Fixing bracket included.
(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
FGauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square.
2Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, type, bracket, gauge, gauge shape, scale, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GR300-08LNK is a 300 body, PT1/4", low-pressure type, no gauge, with reflux valve.

Size Class

  • GR200PT1/8" - PT1/4"
  • GR300PT1/4" - PT1/2"
  • GR400PT3/8" - PT1/2"
  • GR600PT3/4" - PT1"

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom rather than from a single rated figure.

Where the GR40015LF2 AirTAC Low-Pressure Regulator, PT1/2 Is Used

precision_manufacturing

Low-pressure clamping on a CNC fixture line

Soft-grip and low-force pneumatic clamps on a machining fixture need a gentle, stable holding pressure well below standard regulator range. The low-pressure GR40015LF2 lets a setter dial in the exact clamp force on its psi gauge and holds it steady through the shift.

valve

Pilot supply for large process valves

Air-piloted diaphragm valves on a process skid call for a modest, closely held pilot pressure. Feeding the pilot ports from the GR40015LF2 keeps the actuating pressure constant even as the plant air main swings, protecting valve positioning.

factory

Gentle air for a packaging sealing station

Bag-closing and tray-sealing heads on a packaging line use light air pressure to press and cool seals without crushing the product. The low-pressure regulator gives the station its own stable, low setpoint, isolated from the higher-pressure main header.

Is the GR40015LF2 AirTAC Low-Pressure Regulator, PT1/2 the Right Regulator?

Start with the port step: size 400 with 1/2 in PT ports suits lines where the 3/8 in step is too small, but sizing should follow the flow your circuit actually needs - AirTAC publishes GR flow as curves, not a single rating, so send us your demand and we will confirm the fit before you order. Choose the low-pressure (L) type only when your working pressure stays within its range of up to 0.4 MPa; for higher setpoints use the standard GR type. The F2 code gives you the embedded square gauge with a psi scale (MPa and bar scales are also available, and an external round gauge is an option). Thread is PT as standard; G (BSPP) and NPT are catalogue options to order. A mounting bracket is included, and GR units are also panel-mountable.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT1/2" here)
  • ✓ Standard 0.9 MPa or low-pressure 0.4 MPa
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, or order N without
  • ✓ Gauge shape C round / F square
  • ✓ Scale MPa (1), psi (2) or bar (3)
  • ✓ Reflux valve needed, order K

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Install downstream of the filter, following the airflow arrow.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Set pressure while air is flowing, then lock the knob.
  • check Adjust within 0.05 - 0.4 MPa (7 - 58 psi) only.
  • check Operating range -20 to +70 °C.
  • check Panel-mount or use the fixing bracket; do not hang it on tubing.

Without a reflux valve, air cannot flow back through the regulator — order the K option if reverse flow is required. A regulator does not remove water or particulate; that is the filter's job.

GR40015LF2 AirTAC Low-Pressure Regulator, PT1/2 FAQ

AirTAC publishes GR regulator flow as curves rather than a single rated number, so there is no one l/min or SCFM figure we can honestly quote. Send us your line pressure, setpoint and expected air demand, and we will confirm the datasheet curve figures for this exact unit on request before you order.

L is the low-pressure regulator type: its adjustment range tops out at 0.4 MPa, compared with the standard GR type. It suits circuits that work at low setpoints, such as clamping, sealing or pilot supplies. If your process needs to run above 0.4 MPa, choose a standard-type GR unit instead - the L type is not intended for that.
