AirTAC Pneumatics
AirTAC 6V is a range of 5-port solenoid valves for double-acting cylinders in four body sizes and 5/2 or 5/3 functions, with 6V-F manifold bases that share one air feed and one wiring loom across up to 20 stations.
inventory_2600 models availableThe AirTAC 6V series is a family of 5-port directional control solenoid valves sized for double-acting cylinders. It comes in four body classes - 6V05, 6V1, 6V2 and 6V3 - with flow capacity rising from 6V05 up to 6V3, and every class carries the full function set: two-position single solenoid (10) that springs back to one side on power loss, two-position double solenoid (20) that holds its last position when de-energised, and three 5/3 centre types (30C closed, 30E exhaust, 30P pressure) for mid-stroke stops. Port options run from M5 on the smallest bodies up to the 10 port code on the 6V3, with a second J-code port style (J04, J06, J08) on the 6V05, 6V1 and 6V2 classes.
The 6V-F manifold base is the reason to choose 6V over individually piped valves: a row of valves on one base shares a single air supply, a single exhaust and a single wiring loom, which means a tidier panel and faster fault-finding. Bases cover 1 to 20 stations and are available for all four body classes (6V0500M1F through 6V0500M20F in the 0500 class, with equivalents for the 100, 200 and 300 classes), so any valve in the range can be built into a manifold of any size from 1 to 20. Bases and valves are separate line items - you order the 6V-F base and the valves individually.
Every valve is offered in four coil voltage codes - A, B, C and F - and AC24V is handled as an enquiry. Each model also exists as two variants distinguished by a trailing 050 or 200 code; the two variants differ in a way the code alone does not spell out, so send us your requirement or existing part number and we confirm the right one by RFQ. Pressure, flow and electrical data should likewise be confirmed from the datasheet for your exact model. The range runs to 600 live SKUs - 520 valves and 80 bases - priced from about $9 for a small base to about $165 for a valve.

A 6V-F base carrying a row of 6V1 or 6V2 valves runs the clamp, push and eject cylinders of a packaging machine from one air feed and one wiring loom, cutting panel clutter and fault-finding time.
The 5/3 functions (30C, 30E, 30P) let a clamp cylinder pause part-way through its stroke, with the centre behaviour matched to whether the stopped ports should be blocked, exhausted or held under pressure.
The small 6V05 class with M5 or J04 ports suits compact double-acting gripper cylinders on moving heads, where a double-solenoid (20) valve keeps its last command if the control signal is lost.
Double-acting cylinders driving diverter chutes and stop gates along a conveyor line run from 6V1 to 6V3 valves, and a single 6V-F base of up to 20 stations can serve every valve point on the run.
Start by confirming the job: 6V valves are 5-port valves for double-acting cylinders. Then decide individual valves or a manifold - one or two points of use suit individual valves, several suit a 6V-F base with one air feed and one wiring loom; size the base in stations from 1 to 20 and leave room to expand. Pick the body class against the cylinder bore and the speed wanted: 6V05 for the smallest work, 6V1 and 6V2 in the middle, 6V3 for the largest - under-sizing the valve starves the cylinder and slows the stroke. Finally choose the function: single solenoid (10) for spring return on power loss, double solenoid (20) where the circuit must remember its last command, or a 30C/30E/30P centre for a mid-stroke stop with the behaviour you need.
Then confirm the five practical points: body class, function, port style (thread codes M5, 06, 08, 10 or the J-code style - ask us which suits your plumbing), coil voltage from A, B, C or F, and the 050 or 200 variant. Note that a closed-centre 5/3 valve stops airflow in the centre position, but a pneumatic cylinder still drifts under load - for positive load holding specify a mechanical lock, rod brake or pilot check valve. Step out of the series when the job changes: single-acting cylinders need a 3-port valve from the AirTAC 3V range (which has its own 3V-F manifold bases); other 5-port lines we carry are 4V and 5V, and the 4M NAMUR valve mounts directly on an actuator. Put a GFR filter regulator or GC F.R.L. unit upstream - solenoid valves want clean, dry air.
Quick checklist
Four body classes: 6V05, 6V1, 6V2 and 6V3, with flow capacity rising from 6V05 to 6V3. Port options span M5 and J04 on the 6V05 up to the 08 and 10 port codes on the 6V3, and every class carries the full function set - single solenoid (10), double solenoid (20) and three 5/3 centres (30C, 30E, 30P). Request the pressure and flow figures for your specific model with your RFQ and we send the datasheet.
A 10 single solenoid springs back to one side when power is lost. A 20 double solenoid keeps its last position when de-energised, which suits circuits that must remember a command. The 30C, 30E and 30P centres stop the cylinder mid-stroke with different behaviour: closed centre blocks both cylinder ports, exhaust centre vents them, and pressure centre keeps both under pressure. Whichever you choose, a centre position stops airflow but does not lock the cylinder - it can still drift under load.
Yes - 6V-F bases run from 1 to 20 stations and are offered for all four body classes, for example 6V0500M1F through 6V0500M20F in the 0500 class. Bases and valves are separate line items: you order the 6V-F base and the valves individually, and any body class can be built into any station count from 1 to 20, leaving spare stations for future expansion.
