The AirTAC Airtac 3V Solenoid Valves 3V106AG is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The 3V106AG is the G-thread version of AirTAC's smallest 3V body: a direct-acting, single-solenoid 3/2 valve with a G1/8 (BSPP parallel) port. It either feeds or vents one line, so it switches single-acting spring-return cylinders, air-blow nozzles, clamps and pilot stages. De-energised, the spring returns the spool to its fixed rest state - confirm the state on the datasheet before wiring. This exact SKU carries an AC220V coil drawing just 4.5 VA and a standard DIN plug connection, so replacement coils and plug sockets are easy to source. The parallel G1/8 port takes a bonded seal or sealing washer rather than tape-based taper sealing, which keeps thread depth consistent on European-style manifolds and blocks. IP65 (DIN 40050) coil construction protects the electronics in washdown-prone cells.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| AC220V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| G (BSPP parallel) | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
A G1/8 BSPP port threads straight into European machine blocks, letting the valve pulse a small air jet that clears chips and coolant mist from a spindle-adjacent part nest between cycles.
Switching one small single-acting clamp cylinder on a carton-forming machine: the 4.5 VA AC220V coil keeps the control-transformer loading minimal across many clamp positions.
A compact 3/2 pilot feeding a larger process actuator, with the bonded-seal G port simplifying assembly on stainless pipework and the manual override easing commissioning dry runs.
3V1 is the lowest-power body in AirTAC's 3V range, but its flow coefficient is not published, so for flow-critical duties step up: the 3V2 covers 1/8 and 1/4 ports with Cv 0.18-0.19 plus a vacuum rating, the 3V3 gives 1/4 port with Cv 0.62, and the 3V2M wins when a dense manifold matters more than flow. If the actuator is double-acting, that needs a 5-port valve - see the AirTAC 4V series. Before ordering the 3V106AG, confirm five points: G1/8 parallel thread (PT tapered is the standard thread on this family and G is a catalogue option), the AC220V coil, DIN plug entry (a flying-lead -I version exists), individual valve rather than a 1F-20F manifold assembly, and air filtered to 40 um or finer - lubrication is not required.

It is a direct-acting, single-solenoid, spring-return 3/2 valve with G1/8 (BSPP parallel) ports and an AC220V coil rated 4.5 VA. Operating pressure spans 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi) and media temperature -20 to 70 C, with IP65 (DIN 40050) coil protection. Air must be filtered to 40 um or finer; lubrication is not required. A Cv or effective-area figure is not published for the 3V1 series - ask us to confirm suitability for your flow demand.
Three ports and two states mean it feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust: ideal for single-acting spring-return cylinders, on/off blow, clamping and piloting a bigger valve. It cannot drive a double-acting cylinder - that requires a 5-port valve such as the AirTAC 4V series. The G1/8 port is parallel-threaded, so seal it with a bonded washer or O-ring rather than tape; PT1/8 tapered is the manufacturer's standard thread if you prefer that style.
