Variants are defined by a two-digit function code. The x1x suffix is a 5/2 single-solenoid spring-return valve, while x2x is a 5/2 double-solenoid memory valve that holds its last position when de-energized. The x3x suffix provides 5/3 three-position control with closed-centre, exhaust-centre or pressure-centre options. Standard coils include an LED indicator with surge suppression and a manual override for setup testing. Available voltages include DC24V, DC12V, AC110V, AC220V and AC24V.
A key design detail is that these are directional valves, not flow controllers. Cylinder speed must be regulated by separate one-way flow controllers at the cylinder ports. Additionally, a 5/3 closed-centre valve stops airflow but a pneumatic cylinder will still drift under load. For true mid-stroke holding, a mechanical rod lock or pilot-operated check valves are required.

Size the valve to the cylinder bore and required speed. A larger bore or faster stroke needs a larger body (4V300 or 4V400) to provide adequate flow. Under-sizing the valve starves the cylinder and slows the stroke. Choose the function based on failure mode: 5/2 single solenoid returns the cylinder home on power loss, 5/2 double solenoid holds the last position, and 5/3 closed-centre attempts to stop mid-stroke.
