About the AirTAC SDA12
The AirTAC SDA12 is a double-acting thin compact cylinder with a 12 mm bore and a 6 mm piston rod. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 57 N and pulls 42 N; at 0.7 MPa that rises to 79 N push and 59 N pull. Force depends on bore and pressure only, so every stroke on this page gives the same output.
All SDA12 versions share M5 air ports, an M3×0.5 female rod thread (B versions have a M5×0.8 male rod end) and rubber bumpers at both ends. The cylinder runs on filtered air between 0.15 and 1.0 MPa (proof 1.5 MPa), from -20 to +70 °C, at 30 to 500 mm/s. This page lists 75 stock order codes with strokes from 5 to 70 mm; catalog standard strokes run up to 50 mm, and the longer codes are non-standard strokes we already supply.

Choosing the Right SDA12 Configuration
Start with the stroke. Pick the exact travel your machine needs; a longer stroke adds length, weight and air consumption without adding force. If your length is not listed, request a quote and we will confirm whether it can be built.
Then choose the mounting. Basic (no code) uses the cylinder's own mounting holes. Foot and flange mountings hold the cylinder rigid for straight-line loads; clevis and trunnion mountings let it pivot when the load moves in an arc.
Finally pick the version: S adds a magnet for position sensors; the standard seal suits general automation; B gives a male threaded rod end instead of the standard female thread; H (FKM) is for higher temperatures or oil-contaminated air; N specifies NBR.
