AirTAC SAI Series ISO Cylinders

The AirTAC SAI series is a tie-rod-less, ISO 15552 (original ISO 6431 / ex-VDMA 24562) standard pneumatic cylinder. It features an extruded aluminum barrel with sensor-switch grooves and drops directly onto any standard ISO 15552 bracket set. It serves as the current-production successor to the discontinued AirTAC SI series.

The range covers 9 bores from 32 to 200mm. Rod diameters span 12mm on the 32mm bore up to 40mm on the 160-200mm bores. Ports range from G1/8 to G3/4. Maximum standard stroke varies by bore: 1000mm for bore 32, 1200mm for bores 40-50, and 1500mm for bores 63-200.

Force class scales from 402N push at 0.5 MPa on the 32mm bore up to 15708N on the 200mm bore. Theoretical maximum force at 1.0 MPa spans 82 kgf to 3204 kgf. All units are double-acting with variable air cushions both ends. Note that air cushions only decelerate the piston near stroke end; they do not hold the load when pressure is lost. The upgraded piston seal uses two Y-shaped one-way elements for low start-up pressure and long life. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa, speed is 30-800 mm/s (30-500 mm/s for bores 125-200), and temperature range is -20 to +70 C.

Beyond the base SAI, the family includes variants for specific duties: SAID (double rod), SAIJ (adjustable stroke), SAIL (air-released lock for held loads), SAIF (built-in 4M valve, bores 32-100), and BSAI (clamp-lock, bores 32-125). A magnet (-S) is available for CMSE/DMSE sensors.
