AirTAC SCJ Series Adjustable-Stroke Cylinders

The AirTAC SCJ series is a standard tie-rod pneumatic cylinder featuring a rear-cap adjusting screw that sets the stroke end. This allows the effective extend stroke to be shortened on-site without changing the cylinder, providing the same push and pull force as the fixed-stroke SC series of the same bore. The adjustable-stroke window ranges from 10 to 100 mm depending on the model.

The series spans 10 bores from 32 to 250 mm, with rod diameters from 12 mm up to 50 mm. Ports range from PT1/8 to PT1 inch (PT standard, G optional). The force class matches the single-rod SC: push force at 0.5 MPa spans about 402 N on the 32 mm bore up to 24544 N on the 250 mm bore. Maximum theoretical force at 1.0 MPa spans about 82 kgf to 5006 kgf.

Shared design features include double-acting operation, single rod, and adjustable air cushions at both ends that decelerate the piston near the stroke end. The air cushion is not a lock and does not hold the load when pressure is lost; a mechanical lock or pilot check valve is required for load holding. The cylinder operates on air filtered to 40 um, with a pressure range of 0.15-1.0 MPa and a temperature range of -20 to +70 C. Speeds range from 30-800 mm/s for bores 32-100, and 30-500 mm/s for big bores 125-250. A magnet option (-S) is available for reed or solid-state sensors. This is a tie-rod cylinder and is not ISO 15552, so it is not a drop-in ISO swap. Big bores 125-250 fall under the ISO 6430 class.
