About the AirTAC JSI80

The AirTAC JSI80 is a double-acting standard air cylinder with an 80 mm bore and a 25 mm piston rod. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 2513 N and pulls 2268 N; at 0.7 MPa that rises to 3519 N push and 3175 N pull. Force depends on bore and pressure only, so every stroke on this page gives the same output.

All JSI80 versions share 3/8" air ports, an M22×1.5 rod thread and 29 mm adjustable air cushions. The cylinder runs on filtered air between 0.15 and 1.0 MPa (proof 1.5 MPa), from -20 to +70 °C, at 30 to 800 mm/s. This page lists 21 stock order codes with strokes from 25 to 300 mm; the catalog maximum stroke is 1500 mm.

Theoretical output force (Ø80 mm)

PressurePushPull
0.5 MPa2513 N2268 N
0.7 MPa3519 N3175 N

Push = pressure × bore area; pull subtracts the Ø25 mm rod area. Usable force is lower because of friction and back-pressure.

Where the JSI80 Is Used

Heavy pushing and lifting

About 2513 N at 0.5 MPa moves heavy slides, lifts gates and ejects parts.

Clamping and pressing

Rigid mountings for press-fit, riveting and heavy clamping.

Pivoting mechanisms

Clevis and trunnion versions drive levers, dampers and tilting tables.

Choosing the Right JSI80 Configuration

Start with the stroke. Pick the exact travel your machine needs; a longer stroke adds length, weight and air consumption without adding force. If your length is not listed, request a quote and we will confirm whether it can be built.

Then choose the mounting. Basic (no code) uses the cylinder's own mounting holes. This bore is stocked with FA front flange, FB rear flange, TC center trunnion. Foot and flange mountings hold the cylinder rigid for straight-line loads; clevis and trunnion mountings let it pivot when the load moves in an arc.

Finally pick the version: S adds a magnet for position sensors; G replaces the standard PT ports with G (BSPP).

AirTAC JSI80 FAQ

No. Every JSI80 gives about 2513 N push and 2268 N pull at 0.5 MPa, whatever the stroke.

3/8" ports, PT thread as standard. The G version has G (BSPP) ports.

Brackets: FA front flange, FB rear flange, TC center trunnion. Pick a pivoting cover or bracket when the load moves in an arc, a rigid one for straight-line loads.

Usually yes. Request a quote with the stroke, mounting and version and we will confirm whether it can be built, plus price and lead time.

0.15 to 1.0 MPa operating pressure (proof 1.5 MPa) and -20 to +70 °C on filtered air.

No. You can order a single JSI80. Orders are processed and handed to the carrier within 3-5 business days.
