AirTAC Pneumatics
The AirTAC JSI series is a JIS-standard, no-tie-rod profile air cylinder built for tight machines, spanning 32-125mm bores with adjustable air cushions.
inventory_2694 models availableThe AirTAC JSI series is a double-acting, JIS-standard profile air cylinder featuring an extruded hard-anodized aluminum barrel with no external tie rods. Compared to an ISO 15552 standard cylinder of the same bore, the JSI is shorter and more compact, making it a space-saver on tight machines. It spans 7 bores from 32 to 125mm, with standard strokes reaching up to 1500mm for bores 63-125mm.
The shared design includes adjustable air cushions at both ends that decelerate the piston near stroke end (it is not a lock or brake). It uses a two-way piston seal with grease retention, NBR piston seals, and TPU front-cover packing. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa, proof pressure is 1.5 MPa, and temperature range is -20 to +70 C. Ports range from G1/8 to G1/2, with speeds up to 800mm/s for most bores.
Force output scales with the bore: push force at 0.5 MPa spans about 402N on the 32mm bore up to 6136N on the 125mm bore. Theoretical max force at 1.0 MPa spans 82kgf to 1251kgf. Sensor grooves on both sides accept CMSE/DMSE sensors when the -S magnet option is selected. Variants include the JSID double-rod and JSIJ adjustable-stroke models.

Ideal for clamping workpieces inside CNC machines where envelope length is restricted, leveraging the JSI's shorter profile compared to standard ISO 15552 cylinders.
Suitable for diverting products on packaging lines, using the adjustable air cushions to decelerate high-speed strokes smoothly without shock.
Handles the repetitive push-pull motions in carton erecting machines, utilizing the two-way piston seal with grease retention for long service life.
Choose the bore based on your load and available air pressure: the 32mm bore provides about 402N push at 0.5MPa, while the 125mm bore provides 6136N. Select the JSID double-rod variant when you need higher lateral load capacity or symmetrical movement, and the JSIJ when you need adjustable stroke limits. For standard models, confirm the required stroke length up to the 1000-1500mm maximums depending on bore size.
If your machine requires an ISO 15552 mounting interface instead of JIS, step out of the JSI series to the AirTAC SAI or SE families. For a compact metric-profile family, see the AirTAC SAU. When ordering any JSI cylinder, confirm these 5 points: bore size, required stroke, port thread (PT or G), mounting style (LB, FA, TC, etc.), and whether the -S magnet option is needed for sensors.
Quick checklist
The JSI series spans 7 bores from 32 to 125mm. Push force at 0.5 MPa spans about 402N on the 32mm bore up to 6136N on the 125mm bore. Theoretical max force at 1.0 MPa spans 82kgf to 1251kgf. Max standard stroke varies by bore: 1000mm for bore 32, 1200mm for bores 40-50, and 1500mm for bores 63-125.
The standard JSI is a single-rod double-acting cylinder. The JSID features a double-rod design for higher lateral load capacity and anti-rotation. The JSIJ offers adjustable stroke limits. All share the same JIS-standard, no-tie-rod profile construction.
No, the JSI follows the JIS mounting standard, not ISO 15552. It uses an extruded profile barrel with no external tie rods, making it shorter and more compact than an ISO 15552 cylinder of the same bore. If you need an ISO 15552 interface, consider the AirTAC SAI or SE series.
No. The adjustable air cushions at both ends only decelerate the piston near the stroke end to reduce impact. They do not act as a lock, brake, or holding mechanism. If load holding is required when pressure is lost, you must use a separate mechanical lock, rod brake, or pilot check valve.
