The AirTAC SC250 is a double-acting tie-rod cylinder with a 250 mm bore and a 50 mm piston rod. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 24544 N and pulls 23562 N; at 0.7 MPa that rises to 34361 N push and 32987 N pull. Force depends on bore and pressure only, so every stroke on this page gives the same output.
All SC250 versions share PT1" air ports, an M42×2 rod thread and 40 mm adjustable air cushions at both ends. The cylinder runs on filtered air between 0.15 and 1.0 MPa, from -20 to +70 °C, at 30 to 500 mm/s. As a big-bore SC it belongs to the ISO 6430 class, and its standard seals are NBR. This page lists 118 stock order codes with strokes from 15 to 1850 mm; catalog standard strokes run up to 1500 mm, and the longer codes are non-standard strokes we already supply.

Push = pressure × bore area; pull subtracts the Ø50 mm rod area. Force does not depend on stroke. Usable force is lower because of friction and back-pressure.

Start with the stroke. Pick the exact travel your machine needs; a longer stroke than necessary adds length, weight and air consumption without adding force. If your length is not listed, request a quote and we will confirm whether it can be built.
Then choose the mounting. Basic (no code) has threaded end-cover holes for your own bracket. This bore is stocked with FA front flange, CA single clevis, TC center trunnion. Foot and flange mountings fix the cylinder rigidly for straight-line motion; clevis and trunnion mountings let it pivot when the load moves in an arc.
Finally pick the version. Add the magnet (S) if you will fit position sensors on the tie rods. The standard NBR seal suits general automation; choose H (FKM) for higher temperatures or oil-contaminated air.
