The SAUJ series is the adjustable-stroke version of the AirTAC SAU profile-type cylinder. An external stop screw shortens the extend stroke on-site by up to 100 mm, while the nominal stroke remains the maximum limit. It is a compact extruded aluminum barrel design, notably shorter than an ISO 15552 cylinder of the same bore.
The range covers six bores (32, 40, 50, 63, 80, 100 mm) with adjust windows of 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 75, and 100 mm. Theoretical max force at 1.0 MPa spans about 82 kgf on the 32 mm bore up to 801 kgf on the 100 mm bore. Ports range from 1/8 inch to 1/2 inch in PT, G, or NPT threads.
Shared design features include double-acting single-rod operation, adjustable air cushions at both ends for deceleration, and TPU/Viton H/NBR N seals. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa with speeds of 30-800 mm/s. The -S magnet option supports CMSG/DMSG/EMSG sensors. SAUJ is the current-production replacement for the discontinued AirTAC SUJ series.

How to Choose the Right Model
Select the bore based on your force requirement: push force at 0.5 MPa spans 402 N on the 32 mm bore to 3927 N on the 100 mm bore. Choose the adjust window (10-100 mm) that covers your maximum needed stroke reduction. Confirm these five points: bore size, nominal stroke, port thread type, mounting style (Basic, FA, or LB), and whether you need the -S magnet for position sensing.
Step out of the SAUJ series if you need a double-rod cylinder for higher anti-rotation resistance (use SAUD), a built-in valve for space savings (use SAUF), or a fixed-stroke standard profile cylinder (use SAU). If your machine requires a strict ISO 15552 adjustable-stroke interface, use the AirTAC SAIJ series instead. Note that air cushions only decelerate the piston; they do not hold position. A mechanical lock or pilot check valve is required for load holding.
