About the AirTAC SEJ50

The AirTAC SEJ50 is a double-acting stroke-adjustable ISO 15552 tie-rod-free standard cylinder with a 50 mm bore and a 20 mm piston rod. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 982 N and pulls 825 N; at 0.7 MPa that rises to 1374 N push and 1155 N pull. A rear stroke-adjustment screw lets you shorten the travel by up to the adjustment amount in the code (10-100 mm across the codes on this page). Force depends on bore and pressure only, so every stroke on this page gives the same output.

All SEJ50 versions share 1/4" air ports, an M16×1.5 rod thread and 30 mm adjustable air cushions. The cylinder runs on filtered air between 0.15 and 1.0 MPa (proof 1.5 MPa), from -20 to +70 °C, at 30 to 800 mm/s. This page lists 120 stock order codes with strokes from 20 to 1000 mm; catalog standard strokes run up to 1200 mm.

Choosing the Right SEJ50 Configuration

Start with the stroke. Pick the exact travel your machine needs; a longer stroke adds length, weight and air consumption without adding force. If your length is not listed, request a quote and we will confirm whether it can be built.

Then the stroke adjustment (10-100 mm): pick the amount by which you need to trim the stroke on the machine. The cylinder can be set anywhere between full stroke and full stroke minus that amount.

Then choose the mounting. Basic (no code) uses the cylinder's own mounting holes. This bore is stocked with FA front flange, FTC front trunnion. Foot and flange mountings hold the cylinder rigid for straight-line loads; clevis and trunnion mountings let it pivot when the load moves in an arc.

Finally pick the version: S adds a magnet for position sensors; the standard seal suits general automation; H (FKM) is for higher temperatures or oil-contaminated air; N specifies NBR.
