About the AirTAC PSL
The AirTAC PSL is an L-type (elbow) speed controller: one end screws into the cylinder or valve port, the other takes the air tube with a one-touch connection, and the elbow body turns the tube 90° away from the port. The flow is set with a fine-adjustment needle turned by the knob. It controls actuator speed and can also throttle pneumatic signal lines.
All PSL codes work from 0 to 1.0 MPa (0-10 kgf/cm²) and on vacuum down to -750 mmHg (10 Torr), at -20 to +70 °C. Bodies are nickel-plated brass or SUS304 stainless steel. The thread end comes with thread sealant already applied (PTFE on the stainless versions). This page lists 119 stocked order codes for Ø4-12 mm tube and M5×0.8, PT1/8, PT1/4, PT3/8, PT1/2 threads.
The -S versions have a SUS304 stainless steel body, for washdown, food, chemical or other corrosive environments; their adjusting needle has an anti-dropout design.

Choosing the Right PSL Configuration
Start with the tube: pick the outside diameter of the air tube you use, Ø4, Ø6, Ø8, Ø10, Ø12 mm.
Then the port thread of the cylinder or valve it screws into. Each thread is paired with certain tube sizes: M5×0.8: Ø4, Ø6 mm; PT1/8: Ø4, Ø6, Ø8 mm; PT1/4: Ø6, Ø8, Ø10 mm; PT3/8: Ø6, Ø8, Ø10, Ø12 mm; PT1/2: Ø8, Ø10, Ø12 mm.
Then the throttle direction. Meter-out (A) restricts the air leaving the cylinder: it gives the steadiest speed and is the usual choice for double-acting cylinders. Meter-in (B) restricts the air going in, for single-acting cylinders and small-volume circuits.
Finally the finish: grey is standard, D is the same part in black; -S selects the SUS304 stainless steel body.
