About the AirTAC SSA16
The AirTAC SSA16 is a single-acting, spring-return thin compact cylinder (push type) with a 16 mm bore and a 6 mm piston rod. Compressed air extends the rod and a built-in spring retracts it when the air is released, so the rod rests retracted; only one port takes air. Catalog output with the spring force already deducted is 80.5 N push at 0.5 MPa and 120.7 N at 0.7 MPa. The spring stroke has no air behind it, so it must not carry a load.
All SSA16 versions share M5 air ports, an M3×0.5 female rod thread (B versions have a M5×0.8 male rod end) and rubber bumpers at both ends. The cylinder runs on filtered air between 0.2 and 1.0 MPa (proof 1.5 MPa), from -20 to +70 °C, at 50 to 500 mm/s. Air extends the rod with about 80.5 N at 0.5 MPa (catalog value, spring force deducted); the internal spring retracts it when the port is vented. The force does not depend on the stroke code.
