About the AirTAC MSU12

The AirTAC MSU12 is a small free-mount cylinder with a Ø12 mm bore: the square body can be fixed from any of its four sides, and several cylinders can be mounted side by side to save space. It is single acting, push type: air pushes the rod out and the spring returns it when the air is released.

A locating boss on the front cover makes positioning accurate, the bore is hard-anodized for wear resistance and the piston uses a compact bidirectional seal. The body has sensor grooves for CMSH, DMSH or EMSH sensors, which fit without brackets. It follows JIS standards and needs no lubrication.

Where the MSU12 Is Used

Small pushers

Pushes, ejects and positions small parts.

Multi-cylinder banks

Several cylinders mount side by side in a row.

Jigs and fixtures

Four mounting faces fit tight spaces in a fixture.

Choosing the Right MSU12 Configuration

Choose the stroke: the standard strokes on Ø12 are 5, 10 mm. Maximum stroke is 10 mm; tolerance +1.0/0 mm.

S adds a magnet for position sensors.

Rod end: blank is a female thread, B a male thread. R is the axial mounting version; without R the body mounts transversely.

AirTAC MSU12 FAQ

At 0.5 MPa the theoretical single-acting push force is 47.5 N. Bore Ø12, rod Ø6 mm.

From any of the four sides of the body, or several side by side; on Ø12 to Ø20 the R version is for axial mounting.

MU is double acting. MSU is single acting, push type: air extends the rod and a spring returns it.

0.2-0.7 MPa, proof pressure 1.2 MPa, -20 to +70 °C, piston speed 50-500 mm/s, on air filtered to 40 µm.

No. You can order a single piece. Orders are processed and handed to the carrier within 3-5 business days.
